Chapter 38: Thor and the Wizard's Town Life (Part 2)
Early the next morning, the door to Sherlock's room was violently opened from the outside by the burly Thor, and the loud noise instantly woke Sherlock, who was busy in his dream.
Looking at Thor calmly walking into his room, Sherlock was about to curse, but then he saw Jane Foster's apologetic expression following behind Thor, and he could only temporarily suppress his anger.
After Jane Foster awkwardly greeted Sherlock, she quickly gave Thor a few instructions and then left without delay.
It wasn't until Jane Foster left that Thor looked at Sherlock, who was still sitting on the bed wrapped in a quilt, and said apologetically,
"Uh, sorry, Jane was in a bit of a hurry, and in my haste, I might have used a little too much strength."
It would have been better if Thor hadn't explained; with the explanation, Sherlock's anger flared even more. You're so noble, you're so amazing, your official partner is in a hurry, so you use my door to flirt?
Managing to suppress the urge to pull out his wand and hit Thor with a spell, Sherlock directly kicked Thor out. After quickly changing clothes and washing up, Sherlock first took Thor to compensate for the room door, and then took Thor to what he called 'finding a job'.
Without much hesitation, the first place Sherlock took Thor was the small bar from yesterday. Looking at the bartender he had gotten familiar with yesterday, he immediately asked if they needed a male dancer.
The middle-aged man, who was both the bartender and the owner of the bar, naturally saw at a glance that Sherlock was joking and chuckled, nodding in agreement with Sherlock's words.
It was fine if he didn't nod, but once he did, Thor was scared. Without a word, he wrapped his arm, which was big enough for a horse to run on, around Sherlock's neck and dragged Sherlock out of the bar.
He was the dignified God of War of Asgard, the son of the All-Father Odin, Thor. How could Sherlock ask him to be a male dancer?
If his brother and the companions of the Heavenly Palace found out, the scene would be too beautiful. Just thinking about it gave Thor goosebumps all over, completely forgetting that there was no stage for Thor to perform in the small bar at all.
Fortunately, Sherlock was just joking and didn't really intend to make Thor sell his looks, although there was no place to sell his looks anyway. Sherlock expressed great regret about this.
After the two had a noisy breakfast, Sherlock actually found Thor a job: a pet shop employee. Looking at the burly Thor, wearing a pink apron, carefully caring for cats and dogs, Sherlock couldn't help but laugh every time he saw it.
With Sherlock's help, Thor also settled down. Whether it was Jane Foster, Sherlock, or Daisy Louise, their lives slowly began to stabilize.
During the day, Sherlock would read books, watch TV, or go out for a walk and eat a meal at the hotel.
Daisy Louise and Jane Foster would continue their academic research together.
Thor, on the other hand, diligently worked to earn money, carefully dealing with the pet owners' attempts to take advantage of him.
In the evening, the few of them would gather in the small bar, have a drink, and chat about what happened that day.
But slowly, Sherlock and Daisy Louise began to notice something was off. Thor, this guy, at some point, started exchanging glances with Jane.
As good friends, Sherlock and Daisy Louise naturally couldn't ignore this matter.
Based on the principle of both fearing their brother's hardship and fearing their brother driving a Range Rover, the two quickly formed an alliance. One was responsible for Jane, and the other for Thor, absolutely not allowing the two to make substantial progress.
Daisy Louise simply couldn't accept the fact that her good friend was in love with an alien, while Sherlock simply couldn't accept that Thor, this simpleton, had a partner.
But the two were only friends, not their mothers, and Jane and Thor always found opportunities to be affectionate, which made Sherlock and Daisy Louise extremely frustrated.
Especially one day, it happened to be the weekend, and the four had agreed to drive Jane's SUV to go sightseeing nearby. But when Sherlock and Daisy Louise arrived at Jane's doorstep,
It wasn't Jane herself who opened Jane's door, but Thor. Sherlock and Daisy Louise exchanged glances and knew that their alliance was completely useless.
Daisy Louise was ultimately 'stolen' by Thor and lost Jane, and Sherlock, as a single dog, was also severely 'backstabbed' by Thor.
Damn it, they had clearly agreed to be single dogs until death, and whoever got out of being single first was a dog. How could Thor and Jane betray their revolutionary friendship?
Finally, under the 'crying, making a scene, and threatening to hang themselves' offensive from Sherlock and Daisy Louise, Jane and Thor finally admitted their relationship, officially confirming their status as a couple.
This also made Sherlock and Daisy Louise get a mouthful of 'dog food' and saw a hint of helplessness in each other's eyes.
They even lost interest in the rest of the journey for a time, and it even developed to the point where Thor and Jane were being affectionate in the back seat, while Sherlock and Daisy Louise were chatting in the front seat.
The two pairs of people did their own things, clearly separated. Even after returning, Sherlock and Daisy Louise left separately without even greeting Jane and Thor.
After all, after being a third wheel all day, both felt that they shouldn't be in the car at this moment; they should be under the car.
Since Jane and Thor admitted their relationship, four days passed peacefully. Finally, on the morning of the fifth day, Sherlock received very good news.
The insurance company called him to say that his new raptor would be delivered to the town this morning.
For this, Sherlock waited all morning. Finally, at noon, to Sherlock's anticipation, a top-of-the-line, off-road modified, latest model raptor was towed to the entrance of Sherlock's hotel on a flatbed truck.
After a series of document signings, Sherlock looked at his beloved car, the second generation, with great joy.
Of course, good news must be shared. Sherlock didn't even have time to tear off the film on the new car before he was pulled by Jane and Daisy Louise to a restaurant to celebrate.
Thor came over during his lunch break at the pet shop after the three had arrived at the restaurant. However, compared to the cheerful Sherlock and the other two, Thor's face was full of sadness.
Under their questioning, Thor finally explained the truth: his brother, Loki, had come to see him that morning, and through his brother, he learned that his father, Odin, the All-Father of Asgard, had passed away. Thor, stripped of his powers, couldn't even go back to see his father one last time.
After learning of this, both Jane and Daisy Louise continuously comforted the grieving Thor. Only Sherlock knew that this was just Loki's conspiracy, and the final plot of Thor was about to begin.
"Looks like I need to make some preparations quickly."
Sherlock thought to himself while comforting the simple-minded Thor.
