Jeon-Woo sat on the sofa in the glimmering living room, watching the morning news. Ms. Song quietly placed a cup of Americano on the table in front of him. The broadcast shifted.
"Last night, a dead body was discovered near Holigon Bar. The victim is believed to have connections with an underground organization, Wen." The dead body on the screen caught Ms.Song's attention. "Young Beauty." She mumbled. Jeon-Woo exhaled slowly.
"No wonder she managed to enter my room." He said, the corner of his mouth twitched. "Evil met the devil, and straight went to hell!" Turning away, he headed out.
In the office, Seo-Yeon was going through some files when someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," She said.
Suzy stepped in, placed a tab on the desk, and stepped back. "Mr.Woo sent an email of invitation." Seo-Yeon scrolls through the screen.
"Hello, Ms. Yeon,
Hope you are doing well. As you know, we're gonna collaborate on the Mega project. So, I would like us to work in the same place. I already arranged everything in Jeon Enterprises.
I hope you will be glad to come. I look forward to your response!
_Mr. Woo."
Seo-Yeon sighed. "Turned it down," she said and started work again. Suzy hummed and left.
In Jeon Enterprises.
After an hour, Jeon-Woo was signing some documents when a notification appeared. He closed the file and opened an email. It was the Kim Enterprises official account. The corner of his mouth lifted, he clicked open it, but,
"Greetings, Mr. Woo,
I am grateful that you think highly of me and really appreciate your passion for this collaboration. But I apologize, I have my own reasons to reject your invitation. Hope you understand.
-Ms.Yeon"
The smirk faded on his mouth. He slowly closed his eyes and sighed. He pressed the button on his table. After a knock, Mr. Jung stepped in. "There's something you have to handle," Jeon-Woo said while locking eyes.
In the afternoon, Seo-Yeon was sitting on the sofa, reading some articles about events. A person appeared on the site. "Hot pink Joker!" Seo-Yeon mumbled and lifted her brows. A man in a pink suit, with doe eyes, but a sharp jawline, was on screen. Suzy looked at the picture and said, "Oh, he's Jihoon." Seo-yeon blinked multiple times. Suzy understood that she was blank about this,
"Mr. Jihoon, hot topic of articles' Youngest national architect!' He's Korea's Mega project was designed by him. He also worked on some government project," she continued. "He's the architect of the Mega complex project." Suzy pointed at the picture.
"He is holding an exhibition on ancient concepts," Suzy explained calmly. "Do you have an invitation?" Seo-Yeon got up and turned to her desk.
"Yeah, all the CEOs are invited," Suzy replied.
At the exhibition, Seo-yeon was standing near the display table, quite composed. She was dressed in a gray suit with a structured waistline, making her confident. Ms. Han smiled and approached her, "Hello, Ms.Yeon, it's nice to see you here." She lifted her glass. Seo-Yeon smiled, "Nice to see you, too," she replied. Ms. Han looked at enterance.
"Jeon-Woo is here." She said. Seo-yeon turned and met Jeon-Woo's cold eyes.
Jeon-Woo took a step forward. He was dressed in a black suit, looking deadly handsome. "Ms. Han," Jeon-Woo said smoothly, lips turning into a curve, "My honor to witness such a beauty." He grabbed her hand and pressed a light kiss on it. "Don't you get tired of dealing with rumors? Now, imposing one more." Ms. Han said, playfully hitting his shoulder.
"Careful," Jeon-Woo said, sliding eyes at Seo-Yeon, "People might get the wrong idea about me." He looked at her and pretended to be surprised. "Oh, Ms.Yeon, I didn't notice you were here." He said. Seo-Yeon rolled up her eyes. Before she could speak, Jin Mo interrupted out of nowhere, voice dripping in mockery, "Wow, Young princess is here too. I wasn't expecting you to be here," he said.
Seo-Yeon felt a familiar urge; some people really deserve a chair on their face. She forced a smile, "I am a partner in the Mega project," she said calmly. "The host of the party is the architect of the same project." She passed a wine glass to Suzy. "The extra one here is... well, you know." Suzy passed the drink to Jin Mo. "Enjoy yourself, Mr.Jin." Seo-Yeon raised her glass and walked away.
"What a show-off," Jin Mo said, thudding the glass on the table. Jeon-Woo paused beside Ms.Han, "I smell something burning." He whispered, but loud enough for Jin Mo to hear it, and walked away.
Jin Mo glared at him, jaw tight. " Soon," he mumbled, "You will learn your place, too."
