Chapter 9 - Game Has Begun

Time passes like lazy cattle grazing in the field. Heavy glass doors of the operating theatre swung open. The doctors took a heavy step out. Remove his surgeon's mask, face tired from exhaustion.

In a white, cold hallway, his eyes locked with Yoo Han. He and others approached the doctor eagerly.

"Ms. Yeon doesn't have any external injury, but her body reacted aggressively to the explosion. Her heart rate dropped multiple times. She's not conscious yet," the doctor continued in a calm tone, "but out of danger, now. "

Yoo Han threw himself on the chair and sighed. Silence filled the hallway for a moment. Ji Min stepped forward.

"Doctor, Yeon-ah was covered in blood. You said that she doesn't have any external injury, which means..."

The doctor interrupted, "It's her secretary's blood. Her condition was worse when she reached here. A big glass piece damaged her kidney. We had to perform stitches."

Ji Min's face got pale. If something happened to Suzy in this accident, Seo-Yeon would never forgive herself.

"How's she, Doc?" Ji Min asked.

" She's in better condition now. But both of them are unconscious." The doctor explained and excused himself.

Jimin gently placed his hand on OT's glass door, peeked inside, and sighed in relief.

In Jenitor Cafe's VIP room, Jin Moo clinked his drink with a man in brown.

Jenitor's Cafe, more like a bar, was an open place for crime deals. But Jenitor was sharp enough that police never found any clue.

"Indeed, I found you like how I heard. She was being untouchable, showing me my place." Jin Moo took a sip of blood-red wine, "Huh, she is exactly at her place, now..." he scoffed.

"No, still not!" The other man sneered. He got up and strode towards the counter, "But I'll make her kneel, begging for life, turning into a puppet." His verminous laugh echoed in the room.

Seo-Yeon and Suzy were already being shifted into personal wards. Yoo Han went out to talk to reporters.

A reporter stepped forward, "Sir, what do you think? Who benefited from this explosion?"

A faint smirk took place on Yoo Han's lips, a calm. "You should say, who would not?" Reporters shared eye contact.

"Sir, why didn't you inherit the company? Why was Ms. Yeon asked to move back, letting go of the established business in Paris?" A male reporter tried to trap him in quires.

Yoo Han sighed and continued, "Seo-Yeon has an interest in business, as you know very well." Then he turned slightly, "As for her personal business, I think she'll guide you better." He gave a gummy smile to reporters and left.

Thirty-two hours passed like a breeze in spring. Calm. Silent. Seo-Yeon woke up a moment ago. Her vision slowly cleared. The sound of the drip echoed through the room. Similar faces with warm smiles gathered around her. She closed her eyes again. Why am I in the hospital?

As the shattered memories flowed through her brain, she shut her eyes.

"Where's Suzy?" She asked in a restless tone.

Ji Min first looked at the doctor, then Seo-Yeon, "She's in the next room...um," and continued, "Sleeping. She has the effect of anesthesia." Ji Min's voice was calm, like coaxing a child.

"But I remember, there was blood. Lots of blood." Seo-Yeon tried to sit up. Yoo Han grabbed her arm slightly to help.

"She had some scratches. Just a minor one." Yoon Han replied and turned to the doctor. "Right, doc?"

The doctor was stunned to be suddenly dragged into family drama. He just nodded.

In Suzy's room, a man strode in with a mask on. A nurse was focused on injecting meds into Suzy. The man placed a bouquet and left. No word, just silence.

Kim Rahae arrived in Korea an hour ago and drove straight to the Seoul National Hospital.

A woman in her 40s stepped out from Houndai. Her aura shouted elegance and luxury as she strode towards Seo-Yeon's room.

"Yeon-ah!" Kim Rahae broke down in tears and hugged Seo-Yeon tightly.

"Mom," Seo-Yeon hugged back like a toddler, burying her face in her neck.

"Baby, are you ok?" Kim Rahae asked while checking on her.

"Mom...mom," Seo-Yeon grabbed her hands, "I am ok."

"You are not safe here. I am sending you back to Paris." Kim Rahae said.

Seo-Yeon locked gaze with Yoo Han.

"Eoma, not again. You didn't let me join the business for the same reason." Yoo Han complained.

"No, I let you enjoy your passion." She replied. "Yeah, after I got stabbed by some kind of enemy." Yaoo Han rolled up his eyes.

"Enough!" Ji Min interrupted them. " Ma did what she feels best for you."

Her interruption shut down Yoo Han. He barely answered her back.

"Don't worry, Mom. Your Yeon-ah is big now, and I have a super brave brother here ." She exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'll blow up that enemy who did this!" Yoon Han crossed his arms. Kim Rahae smacked his head slightly. "And I'll throw you out of Korea, again. If you wanna live with your family, let the police handle this." She pulled Yoo Han's ear, making him hiss in pain.

Ji Min and Seo-Yeon laughed, enjoying the scene.

The next day, a black Audi A4 stopped in front of Seoul National Hospital. Jeon-Woo stepped out, holding a bouquet of white lilies.
