Chapter 5 - Crimson Refusal

Seo-Yeon's car stopped in front of the Kim mansion. She dragged Ji Min inside on her shoulders. As she entered the living room, she froze.

A man stood near the sofa, broad shoulders, wolf cut silver hair, his sharp features resembled a Persian cat.

"Hyung!" She exclaimed and ran towards him. Unknowingly throwing Ji Min on the floor.

Kim Yoo Han was a model, but he loves car racing. He visits Korea twice a year. Seo-Yeon threw herself over him. "Hyung, why didn't you tell me that you were coming?" She asked, excitedly. Yoo-Han hugged back and smiled, "It's a surprise!" He replied politely. They pulled apart. "But Ji Min told me,..." Seo-Yeon paused. Her eyes widened,

"Ji Min!" She turned to find Ji Min on the ground. She rushed to her. "Ji Min, are you alright?" She patted her cheeks, but got no response. Yoo-Han crouched beside Ji Min, only to hear her soft snoring. He tilted his head slightly, "She is just sleeping!" he said, smiling faintly. He picked her up bridal-style and placed her on the sofa.

"Why is she so drunk?" Yoo-Han asked, raising his left brow. Seo-Yeon swapped out her phone and showed a post on screen.

"Because of this post." She pointed at the screen. Yoo-Han sighed in reply. They moved Ji Min to Seo-Yeon's room.

Next morning, 7:45 a.m. Seo-Yeon left early because of an online conference with Paris business partners. As she arrived in front of Kim Enterprises, her car stopped. Seo-Yeon gets out of her car. A convoy blocked her way.

Two black Audis and in the middle, a crimson red Ferrari. Eight guards stepped out in a formation and bowed. One of the guards opened the car's door and turned to Seo-Yeon, "Ms. Yeon, the boss requests your presence." He gestured towards the car. Seo-Yeon went blank. What is this? An invitation or a kidnapping?

"Who sent you?" Seo-Yeon asked, raising her right brow.

"Mr. Woo!" the guard replied, and passed a folded note to Seo-Yeon. As she opened it, her face darkened.

Ms. Yeon,

I heard girls like Crimson in a Ferrari.

I am sending one to receive you.

Hope you won't turn down my humble invitation this time."

Seo-Yeon clenched her fist. She tore down the paper and handed it back to the guard, "I am not coming, and I don't want to see you here again." Seo-Yeon said aggressively. The guard's expression turned cold. He stepped forward, "It's the boss's order, Ms. Yeon. As his subordinate, we must fulfill it." his voice became as cold as ice.

Seo-Yeon trembled for a moment. Suzy was also not around her. But she didn't show a sign of fear. She glared in his eyes,

"Then these are my subordinates," she gestured towards her guard,

"Guards!" Within seconds, fifteen men surrounded her.

"Tell your boss," Seo-Yeon back faced them, "Mind his own business!" she said, and walked inside with heavy protection.

At 8:32 a.m, Ji Min's alarm buzzed. She groaned and pulled up her blanket until realization hit her.

She had a meeting at 9:05 a.m.

She rushed out of bed, got dressed, picked up files, keys, and a toast in her mouth, running towards the gate. But they say, 'It will rain when you forget your umbrella '. Her car's tire was punctured, and there were only nine minutes left. The toast in her mouth almost fell out.

A blue Ferrari stopped in front of her, and the window rolled down.

"Yoo-Han!" Ji Min murmured. Her face lit up in a second. She rushed and sat on passenger seat. "On time...drive!" Ji Min said, setting the destination on the map. Yoo-Han blankly looked at her. "Drive!... I'm getting late for the meeting." Ji Min said, panic rising. Yoo-Han started the engine smoothly.

"You should have woken up earlier," Yoo-Han said in a calm tone. Ji Min looked at him in disbelief and sighed.

"I got drunk at a friend's party yesterday." She replied casually. She didn't ask for an explanation. That's how their love life is. No confession nor rejection. Always keep everything inside. Yoo-Han was aware of Ji Min's heart but never explained what was not asked.

Yoo-Han placed a headphone over Ji Min's ear. She closed her eyes. He pressed the accelerator, and the needle climbed. Every drift shows his skills, but he didn't break a single law.

He stopped in front of Park Tech. Ji Min was about to get off when Yoo-Han grabbed her elbow, "Wait." He gently wiped the jam from the corner of Ji Min's chin with a tissue. She froze. Why do you care, if you don't love? Ji Min narrowed her eyes."You are getting late." Yoo-Han's word shook her back to reality. She hurriedly left.

Meanwhile, in Seo-Yeon's office, on a large glass projector, Jeon's bio appeared.

"Jeon Empire was built by Jeon Jung-Seok, Jeon-Woo's father," Suzy explained, moving to the next slide. A family tree appeared. Suzy pointed at a sharp-looking man. "The elder son of Jeon's, Mr. Namyoon. He manages his in-laws' business, and is also a powerful board member of Jeon Empire." Suzy said. Slide changed, and Jeon-Woo appeared on the screen, "You have met Mr.Woo. He's unbeatable in business and..." Suzy stopped.

"And?" Seo-Yeon asked curiously.

"And extreme rascal," Suzy said, making an annoyed face. "He once threw coffee at a staff member during a board meeting. Fired staff because the water was not cold enough." Suzy bent down, and whipered in Seo-Yeon's ear. "There are also rumors... his relationship with previous secretaries weren't so good. That's why Mr. Namyoon banned female secretaries for Mr. Woo."

In Jeon's Empire, Jeon-Woo was glaring from five minutes at pieces of his note, that have been torn by Seo-Yeon. He grabbed one of the piece. His jaw tightened, a faint smirked appeared on his face.

"If you want it this way," he crumbled the paper, "Let it be!"

His gaze darkened.
