Dear Readers,
Before you step into Athena's world, I want to take a moment to talk to you directly as the author. This story is one that is build slowly at the start, and I know some of you may wonder why the male leads, the Phantom Fours don't immediately appear in the very first chapters. So let me give you guys a brief explanation.
For the first ten chapters, the focus is almost entirely on Athena herself, her childhood, her father's tragic death, her strained relationship with her mother, and the way she has been forced to grow up carrying secrets that no teenager should have to bear. These chapters may feel quieter, more emotional, and centered on her daily life rather than the Alphas you're eager to meet but I promise it's not boring. In fact, the Phantom Fours are only mentioned in Chapter Three, and their real presence doesn't come until later.
Why did I choose to write it this way?
Because I want you to understand Athena before her world collides with theirs. I want you to see her scars, her pain, and the reasons she reacts the way she does when she finally meets the Alphas. Without this foundation, her story would feel rushed, and her choices might not make sense.
To me, Athena is not just a girl surrounded by powerful mates, she is a character with her own weight, her own journey, and her own voice.
I know some readers may feel impatient waiting for the Phantom Fours to appear, and I totally understand you guys because I've also been in a situation like this. But I promise, the wait is not wasted time. Every page before their entrance is a piece of Athena's puzzle, setting up the emotional storm that comes when these dangerous, untouchable Alphas step into her life. Their arrival will feel more powerful, more intense, because you will already know the girl they are destined to belong to.
So this is my gentle request to you, be patient with me as I unfold Athena's story step by step. Trust me to guide you through her beginnings, because when the Alphas finally arrive, everything changes, everyone is going to feel the heat not just Athena even the readers. The heat, the tension, the danger, all of it will be worth the wait.
Thank you for choosing to read Beneath the Alpha's Shadow. I hope you'll walk with Athena through her pain, her secrets, and her strength until the moment the shadows that have been waiting for her finally step out into the light.
Happy reading 💜
