"Next time, mind your damn business!" He said as he spat on her, a beaten-up teenage elf girl with purple hair and orange fade——Lucia V Akylha. "Screw you." She murmured as she wiped off the blood she coughed out her mouth, watching those filthy punks walk away just like that made her mad, but she couldn't care less.
She tidied up herself and picked up her bag, that's when a little boy timidly walked over to Lucia, "Th-thank you for helping me.""Screw off, I'm not helping you, their words just irritated me."ranted Lucia, shooing the boy and walked back home. Turned out, those punks were just their daily bullies and Lucia usually just ignored them. But that day, when the bullies were picking on the little boy, the said an opinion that triggered Lucia's indifferent brain, and she went on ranting to prove that their opinion is wrong.
On her way back home, Lucia walked past the village's meeting stage, where elves from all over the village were gathered for a certain meeting. "To all elves of the village, it is unfortunate that I, Laj Newman, head of the elf village announce the death of the God of Flame." The God of Flame, hundreds of years before Lucia was born, he descended from the clouds and swore to protect the village. He was a kind and fair person and never crushed the elves with his godly powers. "Although he died, his powers remain still in this!"Mr Newman raised up a magical and sparkling ring that looked absolutely powerful by first sight. Lucia was shocked, "That's where the god's powers come from?" She thought. "Now since the God of Flame has ascended to Nirvana, we shall need a new heir!" As soon as the word "heir" dropped, the crowd was raging with volunteers, "I can be the heir!" "I'm perfect for this! I've always wanted to..." The huge wave of enthusiastic arguments flooded the entire crowd, but yet again, Lucia couldn't care less.
"Quiet down people! Now we need a new heir, but it won't be from us elves." Hearing this, those enthusiastic volunteers quieted down and started whispering. Mr Newman cleared his throat loudly and said, "According to the God of Flame's words, the power of this ring can only be possessed by human, so we need volunteers to venture the human world, and find the heir the God of Flame pre-chose." "A HUMAN?!" Every elf has heard and knows that humans are species they should least get close to, ever since a group of them slaughtered a family of elves after discovering them 500 years ago. No elves will ever dare to touch the human world, let alone talking with them. As soon as the announcement ended, the entire crowd were whispering to each other, "Going to the human world? He's trying to get us killed!" "I will never step foot in anywhere near the human world." Everyone was against it, everyone except Lucia whom was lost in her thoughts, "Venture...? I get to venture out there?" Her bored attitude shifted into excitement, she was bored of the village and always wanted to see more since she was a child, and there was her chance. Without realising, her hand lifted itself and immediately, she became the centre of attention in the crowd. "Ahh, Ms Akylha, you're interested in volunteering?"said Mr Newman. Lucia woke back from her thoughts and stuttered"Wha-yes, yes Mr Newman."
"Are you sure you got what it takes, Ms Akylha?"
"Yes, Mr Newman, absolutely!"
Mr Newman snickered and exclaimed, "Very well then, Ms Lucia V Akylha here is chosen of the heir search!" Everybody cheered, not because they're proud of her, but because they won't need to risk their lives out there. "She got chosen? Heh, good luck surviving out there." "She won't make it even before stepping into their cities." As cheerings and mockings covered the entire place, Lucia silently went home.
"Mom, I'm back!" Lucia exclaimed as she opened the door with a long creaking sound. "Lucia, there was a town gathering today but i was too busy to go, did you hear what they said?" Lucia's mother said with a gentle tone. Lucia hesitated a bit and said, "Mr Newman announced the death of the God of Flame, and stuff about needing someone to find an heir from the human world." "Wait what? Our God died?" She stood up surprised. "And we need a heir from the human world?!" She shouted and grabbed Lucia's shoulders, staring at Lucia eye to eye. "Lucia, did they pick the heir searcher already?" Lucia looked away from her mother, hesitated a bit and said, "Me, mom. I'm going to search for the heir." Lucia's mom was too stunned to even sound a word. "Mom, it's gonna be fine, I can protect myself." "Lucia, do you know to consequences to your actions?" Her mother said tremblingly. "Mom...I know it's dangerous out there, but I promise you, I'll be fine, I swear." Lucia's mother took a deep breath and said, "Lucia, you used to be the most abnormal child in this village, I remember seeing you come back everyday bruised cuz you accidentally picked a fight. Right now, everyone is definitely mocking you for your decision, so..."she lightly slapped Lucia's shoulder.
"You better go out there and show them how cool my daughter is!"she looked up at Lucia and exclaimed. Lucia shocked a bit, then grinned and raised her thumb.
"You got it mom!"
