The next day early in the morning, Lucia woke up to realise Fynnis was all prepared for the day, "You're up late." Fynnis mocked. Irritated, Lucia threw a pillow at him with him grabbing it and putting it back on the sofa.
"Where you going?"Lucia asked.
"Work. There's nowhere else I can go on a weekday."
"You don't need to care about weekdays when you're a god."
"Nice try. But no." Fynnis carried his bag and opened the door. Unexpectedly, Fynnis was greeted with the city mayor——Mr Hughsworth and two bodyguards, "Greetings, Mr Corretson, beautiful day don't you agree?"he said. Fynnis was shocked to see THE city mayor by his doorstep that he started stuttering, "M-Mr Mayor, w-what b-brings you here?" "Well since you asked, I'll just skip the small talk and gwt to the point. Mr Corretson, did you happen to spot a mysterious creature roaming the skies around here last night?" Lucia inside the room stopped for a brief moment, "He is talking about Maltous."she thought. Understanding the situation, Fynnis kept his cool and calmly said, "Mysterious flying creature? Do you perhaps refer to a dragon, Mr Mayor?" "An Azure Dragon, to be specific. Now this might sound unbelievable but there were eyewitnesses, including myself who saw a dragon flew onto this specific building, so I came here myself to make sure." Mr Hughsworth stated. Lucia stepped back towards the window, slowly pulling out her father's dagger. "So? Did you see it?" Mr Hughsworth politely asked.
"No, Mr Mayor. I didn't."
Fynnis looked at Mr Hughsworth, his eyes were dead serious. Lucia put down her dagger in little disbelief. "Is that so?" Mr Hughsworth took a peek into Fynnis's room, he seemed to spot something, then he snickered, "Alright then, have a good day Mr Corretson. Guards, let's go." After seeing the mayor left his sight, Fynnis sighed in relief. Lucia walked up to him and asked, "Why didn't you just tell him? I thought you would want me and Maltous to be gone for good?" "You idiot, if I tell them then I'll be involved, and I don't wanna stay in trouble, especially with the city mayor involved. Anyways, I'm going to work now." Fynnis took his bag and took out his keys. Lucia smiled lightly to his response and lightly hit his shoulders, "After all that and you are still a coward."
"And you are still the same reckless idiot."
"What did you just say?! Wanna have at it?!"
"No thanks, I'm educated."
"Screw you!!"
At the restaurant, Kallyne was looking at her watch. "Five more seconds…five…four…three…two…" Fynnis threw himself into the restaurant. "One! Congratulations, Fynnis Corretson. You avoided being late to work, finally." Kallyne cheered. Fynnis got up and panted, "I can't risk being late again, who knows what the boss is gonna do to me?" Kallyne smirked and softly pushed him, "Well then go get your apron and start working! And by the way, your friend is waiting for you." "My friend? Marslle?" He said as he turned his head to see Lucia sitting in the restaurant. "You're here late." She mocked. "The heck, how are you here? I thought I got rid of you following me?" Fynnis asked loudly. "Well, I happen to know your friend over here." Lucia proudly said as she rested her arm on Kallyne's shoulder. "It was this kind lady who took me to your place." "Kallyne!" Fynnis hissed. "She said she wanted to talk with you, I was just being friendly. But it looks like there is…tension, between you two." Kallyne explained. Fynnis sighed, then wore his apron, "Just don't bother me while I'm working okay? If you're here, I'll only treat you as a customer." "Don't mind me." Lucia grinned, sat down and looked at the menu.
During work, there were lots of customers, so every employees were really busy, especially Fynnis since he had to serve the customers and get annoyed by Lucia at the same time. "Yo Fynnis, get over here!" Lucia yelled. Pissed off, Fynnis whisper-shouted, "What did I say about interrupting my work?!" "C'mon, I'm a customer too, and I just wanted to ask what's a 'grilled beef burger'?" Lucia replied with zero guilt. Fynnis stared at Lucia for a bit, then pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, "Grilled beef burger, is a grilled beef stacked between other food like tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise, and sandwiched with two round breads."he explained. "Oooh, sounds tasty, gimme one!" Lucia replied with anticipation. "Alright alright."
After a few minutes, Fynnis came out the kitchen with the burger Lucia ordered in hand, "And here is your grilled beef burger, enjoy." Lucia was amazed by seeing the freshly cooked burger on her table, she stared at the burger and murmured lots of compliments on the burger, "It looks so delicious…the texture is so beautiful…the smell is phenomenal…the meat looks so juicy…" Kallyne looked at Lucia curiously. "Hey, Fynnis?"she asked. "What's up with Lucia? Has she never saw a burger in her entire life?" "It's complicated."he replied. Lucia proceeded to gave the burger a big bite, which resulted in bright sparkles shining in her eyes, "It's so delicious, so exquisite, so heavenly!" She started munching on the burger like a hungry hyena, Fynnis and Kallyne stood speechless.
"THIS IS THE MOST DELICIOUS THING I HAVE EVER ATE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!"
After work, Lucia followed Fynnis back home, "This restaurant has the best food I have ever ate!" "Because of you, today we had very less customers compared to our daily average due to you being so loud, huge thanks." Fynnis said sarcastically. Suddenly, a voice called out Fynnis's name, Fynnis looksd back to see a business man standing ominously. Fynnis thought for a bit after seeing the man, then stepped back and asked, "May I help you?" "Fynnis, be cautious. He might be working for the mayor with the Maltous situation." Lucia whispered. The man glanced coldly at Lucia and spot the bag she carries with her.
"The ring, give it to me."
