Chapter 1 - the dragons of magnolia

Magnolia Town buzzed with life as the sun crept over the horizon, its warm light spilling onto the streets. The Fairy Tail guildhall was as lively as ever, filled with laughter, shouts, and the occasional crash of broken furniture.

Three figures entered the guild that morning, their presence as natural as the chaos around them.

First was Shiro, a silver-haired Water Dragon Slayer whose calm demeanor made him a contrasting force among the guild's more chaotic members. Known for his sharp wit and unparalleled precision in battle, Shiro had built a reputation almost rivaling Natsu Dragneel's, though he wasn't one to seek the spotlight. His piercing blue eyes scanned the room as he took his usual seat near the bar.

Beside him walked his twin sister, Seiran, her icy-blue ponytail glimmering in the morning light. While Shiro was calm and collected, Seiran was sharp and confident, her Ice Dragon Slayer magic a force to be reckoned with. Though not as brash as Natsu, she had a competitive streak that frequently set her against him. The two shared a friendly but fiery rivalry that the guild never tired of watching.

Finally, Izuna strode in behind them, his towering figure commanding respect. The Dark Dragon Slayer was an S-Class Mage whose missions often took him far from Magnolia, but when he was in town, his presence filled the guildhall. With his messy black hair and crimson eyes that seemed to pierce through anything, Izuna was both admired and feared. His reputation as "The Shadow Fang" made him a legend in Fiore, though his blunt sense of humor and loyalty to his friends made him approachable should you be brave enough to attempt.

"Morning, Mira," Shiro said with a faint smile as he took his seat at the bar.

"Good morning, Shiro," Mirajane replied, her kind smile brightening the room. "Back from another job?"

Shiro nodded. "It wasn't much—just dealing with a rogue wizard causing trouble near Hargeon. Nothing I couldn't handle."

"Shiro, stop acting modest," Seiran teased, sliding into the seat next to him. "The fool attempted to burn the harbor before Shiro essentially drowned him."

"Details," Shiro said with a shrug, sipping his drink.

"Is that true?" Natsu's voice rang out as he stomped over, flames flickering in his hands. "You didn't tell me there was a fight!"

"It wasn't worth mentioning," Shiro replied, glancing at Natsu's smoldering fists. "And put those out before you set the bar on fire."

"Yeah, yeah," Natsu grumbled, but his grin widened. "Still, next time, you'd better call me. I want in on the action!"

Seiran smirked. "Please, you'd just get in the way."

"What was that, Snowflake?!" Natsu's fists reignited, his eyes blazing with determination.

"Exactly what it sounded like, Flame Brain," Seiran shot back, her hands glowing with frosty light.

"Not this again," Shiro muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose as the two squared off.

Before the tension could boil over, a shadow loomed behind them. Izuna's deep, gravelly voice cut through the noise. "If you two are going to fight, take it outside. Some of us actually enjoy the peace and quiet."

Both Natsu and Seiran froze, glancing at Izuna's imposing figure before grumbling and backing off.

"Thanks," Shiro said to Izuna, raising his glass.

Izuna shrugged, leaning against the bar. "I wasn't doing it for you. I just didn't want them breaking my seat again."

Across the room, Lucy Heartfilia watched the exchange with wide eyes. She turned to Levy, who was reading at the next table. "So, those three are Dragon Slayers too? I've been in Fairy Tail for a while now, and I still don't know much about them."

Levy smiled knowingly. "They're not exactly secretive, but they don't talk about their pasts much either. Shiro and Seiran were raised by dragons, just like Natsu. Tobirion King of the Tides and Esdra the Glacial Queen, respectively. As for Izuna, he was raised by Yami, the Umbral King (AN: umbral means shadowy/dark) . All three dragons disappeared the year 777."

Lucy frowned. "That's… the same year Natsu's dragon, Igneel vanished." The implications leading to her to mull over the information.

Levy nodded and shrugged helplessly. "Yeah, it is. It's a mystery that none of us can even hope to understand yet…

Anyway, Izuna joined the guild just before Mira and her siblings. While Shiro and Seiran joined just a few months after them. Izuna acted as an older brother figure to them as they became close and bonded over the loss of their dragons.'

"He probably took their dragons' departure the hardest, which acted as fuel for his growth. Obviously all that work payed off seeing as he became an S-Class mage almost a year ago. His power really is no joke." Gray added

"Izuna's an S-Class Mage?" Lucy asked, surprised.

"One of the strongest," Levy confirmed. "Even Erza respects him, and that's saying something."

As the day went on, the guild buzzed with its usual mix of jobs and antics. By evening, the hall was alive with laughter and celebration.

Seiran annoyed by Natsu's antics decided to freeze him.

'THATS COLD YOU ICE FREAK!' He exclaimed after burning his way free and immediately lunged at Seiran.

'WHAT DID U CALL ME FLAMEBRAIN' she shireked as she gathered magic to meet him halfway, however before either could connect 3 oppressive auras from erza, Izuna and makarov served as a warning for them to calm their magic down. Instead they both silently and mutually agreed to another competition.

Cana somehow appeared, beer bottle in hand and cash in the other taking bets for the upcoming showdown. The crowd cheered as Natsu and Seiran engaged in an arm wrestle.

"Admit it, you can't win frostbreath" Natsu grunted, flames flickering around his arm.

"In your dreams, ya pyro" Seiran retorted, ice forming around her hand.

Nearby, Shiro leaned against the bar, chatting quietly with Mirajane while attempting to ignore the ruckus that seemed to be a constant in the guild. He found her calm presence soothing, a rare reprieve from the chaos that seemed to follow him everywhere.

Izuna meanwhile was locked in a conversation with Erza at a corner table, exchanging swordsmanship tips and recent experiences with one another. Although both were S class Mages, they strived for constant improvement, never content with stagnation, a trait both admired about the other.

"As the night wore on, the guild settled into a comfortable rhythm, eerily reminiscent of the quiet before the storm. Laughter echoed faintly against the hall's wooden beams, bottles of booze clinked, and for a fleeting moment, the world outside felt distant. Yet, unknown to the guild members, an unspoken tension was brewing, a sense that this fragile peace would soon shatter, and when it did, nothing would ever be quite the same again."
