Synopsis
He died after answering a quiz? Yeah... that sucks. Luckily, he got a second chance, something like the Multiversal System picked him, and now he gets to live a new life. Huh? I have to lead humanity to the top? I know I picked that mission, but can it wait a bit? I kinda wanna build a harem first.

Chapter 1 - [1] New Life

[You died!]

You must be wondering, how did this happen, right? Well... To be honest, he didn't exactly know either.

There he was, on another normal day, lying in his bed while on his phone when suddenly a notification appeared on his screen. Initially, he thought it was one of those annoying notifications that Android unfortunately couldn't block.

But... To his surprise, this notification was of a different kind.

No matter how hard he tried to remove it, the notification wouldn't leave his screen. And moved by his curiosity, he decided to tap on the notification to see what it was about. And to his surprise, the damn notification was a quiz...

"Seriously?" he wondered. Couldn't hackers make viruses like they used to? Besides, he barely had enough money to pay his bills, so if they wanted to rob him, they'd be left with nothing.

Anyway, the phone seemed stuck on the quiz screen, and since he had nothing better to do, he ended up answering all the questions that appeared.

And he had to admit, the questions in this quiz were strange. See, he had answered strange quizzes before, but none like this one.

"What do they mean by what I think of humanity?" he cursed. Also, what the hell do they mean by humans being the weakest beings in the universe?

Like, seriously? Aren't we humans the only 'thinking' beings in the universe? Look... It's 2025 and we're still far from setting foot on Mars, but from what science has been discovering, everything indicates that we are the only living beings in the universe.

Is it likely that there is bacterial life outside of planet Earth? Yes, it's likely, even Mars might have it. But intelligent life like ours? Even he didn't believe in that possibility.

For this reason, he answered the quiz in a sloppy and even unpretentious manner.

'We humans are the strongest beings in the universe.'

That was his answer to most of the questions.

And that's when it happened...

After finishing the quiz, he felt a wave of electricity run through his body and before he could react... A message appeared.

'You died!'

Seriously? He expected anything but a message that seemed to come out of a video game. He had always wondered what it would be like to die. Maybe he would meet God, or maybe there would be nothing more, like before he was born.

But it seems that when you die, a screen appears for you, or at least it did for him.

Anyway, he was happy. He hadn't felt any pain when he died, and that already relieved him. Although whether he felt pain or not hardly mattered, after all, he was dead.

But, time to get back to the present.

...

... So I really died?

Leonardo didn't even know how to react. He never imagined that the afterlife would be like this.

So what was he supposed to do now? Stay here in the void forever?

Fuck. This is definitely going to suck.

Could this already be hell and he just hadn't realized it yet? If it was hell, he had to admit, it was terrifying, because it was just him in this dark space and well... there wasn't much to do besides think and talk to himself, which would probably drive him crazy after a while.

[You have been selected by the Multiversal System!]

[Would you like to start a new life?]

[Yes] [No]

Multiversal System? Was he sent to some generic Chinese novel?

Holy shit! Did he become one of those protagonists who can travel the entire multiverse collecting girls? Fuck, this is going to be fucking awesome!

During his life, he followed a 'teaching' that consisted of accumulating luck throughout the year to make a single lottery bet. Well... During the time he lived, his accumulated luck never brought him any results. But...

If he wasn't mistaken, when he died, it was already December, and he hadn't 'spent' his luck on the lottery yet, as he intended to place the bet on the last allowed day.

In other words, all his accumulated luck for the year must have been spent on this Multiversal System!

Okay, maybe he's hallucinating, he needs to get back in focus.

"I think many might hesitate to start a new life... Nah, probably no one would refuse."

He himself was an otaku and had imagined himself being transmigrated to another world many times, so what was there to hesitate about? In fact, he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Let's start a new life!

[Host has accepted to start a new life...]

[Loading missions...]

Huh? Missions?

He thought that after accepting, he would receive some OP powers like the Chinese protagonists and then be transmigrated to a world of his choice or a cultivation world where he could slap the faces of some young masters who don't recognize Mount Tai.

But it seemed things wouldn't be as he imagined.

Anyway, it didn't matter. He got a chance to start a new life, and he definitely wouldn't waste it.

He just didn't want to be sent somewhere meaningless.

[Please host, choose the mission you wish to undertake]

[Mission 1: Human Hero]

[Mission 2: Devil Hero]

[Mission 3: Fallen Hero]

Seriously? Just the mission name and no description?

[Mission 1: In the universe you are currently in, there are numerous factions of countless races, and yet the human ones are sparse and commonly under the leadership of a non-human being, this is not fair. Humans have always been under the control and oppression of 'superior' beings. Enough! Your mission is to unify humanity, let the population know the truth about the world they live in, and make humans the strongest race of all!]

[Mission 2: In the universe you are currently in, there are numerous factions, and as a devil, it is your duty to bring the devils to the top again. Your race has suffered due to the last great war that almost led them to extinction and due to this is going through an unprecedented crisis, rise up and lead the devils to a level never seen before!]

[Mission 3: In the universe you are currently in, there are numerous factions, and as a Fallen Angel, it is your duty to bring the Fallen to the top they have never been, since the first Fallen, they have been despised, therefore, you must rise up to lead the Fallen Angels to a level never before seen in history!]

"This..." he murmured, realizing he was in another Universe, now which universe, that he couldn't answer.

Despite the system's description, he felt it was still insufficient. After all, by the description of the missions, there were several races in this universe he would be sent to, so in that case, humans would indeed be at the lowest level. Especially if he compared the human race with the other two he could choose.

Damn! He didn't know what a devil or a fallen angel was like, but if it was like in the religions of his past life, they were extremely powerful, or at least they seemed to be, since he had never seen one.

Which of these three missions should he choose...?

"System, can you tell me which Universe or World you're sending me to? Because without that information, it's like taking a shot in the dark..."

Unfortunately, a few minutes passed and he received no response from the system.

Sigh... This is agonizing...

His future would be defined by one choice.

Fuck it! Let's go with Human Hero!

He had little to no information about the world he was being sent to, so choosing the human race seemed the most logical, besides, in any universe, humans always seem to be the safest choice.

Also, who knows if devils or fallen angels have a strange appearance? He had seen images of these beings in his past life, and although they were based on assumptions, they were still pretty scary, and he was a person who cared about appearances.

Besides, he didn't know if he was going to some universe similar to Warhammer. Please don't let it be Warhammer or something similar, please don't be Warhammer!

Also, for him, humans had always been the most adaptable race among all others, besides, of course, having a great sense of community. So... Let's go with the Human Hero.

Damn, becoming the hero of humanity, that's fucking cool! He could definitely farm a lot of aura.

Of course, he still had doubts if he could complete the mission, after all, if he reincarnated as a common human, he definitely wouldn't be able to unite humanity and make it the strongest of all.

He knew his own limitations... Fuck, even if he reincarnated as the president of Russia who has an arsenal of thousands of nuclear weapons, it would still be impossible to unify humanity. Maybe if he were a Chinese young master it would be possible, but he wasn't one.

Not to mention there were other races in this world he was going to. And... He doubted that a nuclear bomb could kill a devil or even a fallen angel.

After all, a fallen angel was at some point in its life an angel.

[Mission 1: Human Hero, chosen!]

[Granting 100 Multiversal Credits, use them wisely!]

"Multiversal Credits? What are these for?"

[Answering the Host, you can use the multiversal credits to buy advantages before reincarnating!]

There it was! The cheat he was so hoping for. The system didn't disappoint him.

Without wasting much time, he browsed the translucent interface in front of him, and soon found the store.

"Holy shit, so much stuff!" he exclaimed. There were so many things in the store that it seemed impossible to see the end.

Bloodlines, companions, talents. Holy shit! There was even a section where he could become anyone he wanted.

Unfortunately, the latter was impossible for him at the moment. Just seeing the price to become Goku made him discouraged.

[Goku (Super Saga): 1,000 Multiversal Credits]

[Vegeta (Super Saga): 1,000 Multiversal Credits]

Wait... Now that he stopped to think, neither Goku nor Vegeta are human... Well, who cares? Anyway, he couldn't become either of them.

Ignoring that section, he decided to check the bloodlines section and... Although they were still expensive, it was still possible to acquire bloodlines with the credits he had.

[Senju Bloodline: 50 Multiversal Credits]

[Uchiha Bloodline: 50 Multiversal Credits]

[Hyuga Bloodline: 45 Multiversal Credits]

"Hmm... The Uchiha bloodline doesn't seem expensive..." Despite muttering these words, he had no desire to become an Uchigger.

It wasn't because he had prejudices against them, it was just that there were many disadvantages, starting with the curse of hatred. Besides, he doubted he could awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan.

There were also other bloodlines, many of which he had never seen, like the loser's bloodline, and even the Chinese young master's bloodline. Unfortunately, they all seemed too expensive, and the cheaper ones didn't seem useful enough.

Looking at the other sections, he got excited. Especially when he saw Stands and the fruits from One Piece, the prices didn't seem high for what they offered, but unfortunately, he was too poor.

"Fuck, 1,000 credits for Kyōka Suigetsu!" He was sure, if he had enough money, this would definitely be his purchase. After all, who wouldn't want to be an Aizen 2.0.

Filtering the items to the ones he could buy, his smile widened.

[Gate of Babylon (Fate): 100 Multiversal Credits]

Holy... Shit...

Calm down...

He needed to think carefully.

He didn't know where he was going, nor did he know if it was a known world, but even if he did, that would only solve part of the problem, because he wouldn't know at what point in the timeline he would be thrown.

Doubts... Many doubts...

What should he do...?
