Chapter 1 - 18 Years Old

*** Hello, welcome! This is my first writing project that I translated and modified for more entertaining and wish fulfillment. I'll try to make the story more related to real life situations.

Name of the Original story and author

我想当巨星

by 临河羡鱼翁

But beware, this version is a bit different and has a different background for the MC. Again, I make this story about wish fulfillment, to spend my time while waiting other fanfic novel to release ^-^ (I am webnovel addict, hahaha…) So, maybe you will find some similar situations from other novels. xD!

So, I hope you enjoy the story and write feedback in comment or review. Thank you!

On the evening of January 29, 2005, the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle, Washington (home to the University of Washington Huskies basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics teams) which can accommodate 10,000 people. was packed with people.

The game currently underway is a focus game in the NCAA Pacific Ten Conference, with the University of Washington playing against the University of Arizona at home.

The University of Arizona has always been a strong team in the Pacific Ten Conference.

The University of Washington has also seen an astonishing rise in the past two years under the leadership of Nate Robinson and Brandon Roy.

Last year, the two led the team to the finals of the Big Ten Conference Championship.

But in the end, they lost to Stanford University led by Josh Childress, the sixth overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft first round.

However, with the entry of Josh Childress into the NBA and the growth of Nate Robinson and Brandon Roy. University of Washington fans can have higher expectations and greater enthusiasm for this team.

Compared with the excited University of Washington fans in the stadium, two teenagers with faces, one black and one caucasian boy, stood out in the front stands. Most of the fans of the University of Washington are local fans from Seattle, so they are naturally familiar with these two teenagers.

Black teenager, Martell Webster, is a senior at Seattle Prep School and a first-team All-American.

He was also the representative of Team USA at the Nike Hoop Summit.

He was also selected as one of the top ten high school players in the United States by USA Today.

Edward Baker, a caucasian with his wavy blonde hair, is a senior at James A. Garfield High School in Seattle and a star player on the Washington State High School League championship team.

Although Edward is not a nationally known genius like Webster, his popularity in Seattle is no less than Webster's.

As the two most famous high school star students in Washington State, it is easy for people to guess why Webster and Edward come to the University of Washington's home court, obviously to watch the game.

"Amazing! The University of Washington is truly amazing this year! Edward, I swear, as long as we join them, the University of Washington will definitely dominate the NCAA next year!"

Martell was very excited, but Edward was quiet, and his eyes kept flickering as he looked absent mindedly at the court.

'Huh… what? what happend?'

A few moments ago, Edward had been in a speeding motorcycle accident that should have ended everything. His career. His life at the age of 27.

'Did I not die ….? Is this what they call transmigration and reincarnation?'

He had woken up in the body of another boy bearing the same name Edward Baker. in 2005.

Edward Baker (his new body) born in New York but now grown up in Seattle, Washington. He was born on January 3, 1987, in NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, New York. His parents unfortunately were victims in 9/11 while working in the World Trade Center.

After the tragedy his paternal grandfather who was a retired military man brought him to Seattle. He entered James A. Garfield High School to continue his study, and he became a star player in Washington state basketball alongside Martell Webster.

Edward breathes a relief, now merging his memory and the original body memory.

"We must join the University of Washington together, Edward!" Martell excitedly said.

Edward was not sure and just answered "Yeah maybe, I'm not sure dude…"

After studying at James A. Garfield high school in Seattle for four years, Martell's excitement and thought of joining the University of Washington was naturally easy to understand.

But Edward is different from Martell Webster.

Webster is a swingman, and he is a guard!

Robinson and Roy are also guards (University of Washington player), and they are both juniors this year. If he joins, he will need to be their substitute for a year.

Although Roy was his senior in the first year of high school, and he had played as a substitute for Roy, the team's star player at the time, for a year, but that was an insignificant first year of high school!

And now, if Edward wants to enter the NBA, he must show his potential, not to be just a substitute!

Webster's talent has been recognized by many NBA scout.

Then what about Edward?

His scouting report stated: A speed player with comprehensive skills and average talent. He can be a backup spearhead for a top NCAA team, but his chances of entering the NBA are extremely low!

Nate Robinson and Brandon Roy are very powerful, and the other role players of the University of Washington are also quite good. Although the University of Arizona fought tenaciously, it still lost to the University of Washington who played at home.

Webster excitedly say "Edward, Seattle's first NCAA championship trophy will be born in our hands!"

"Well, Martell, I'm not from Seattle. I don't have the same historical passion as you. Nevermind, the game is over, I'm going back." Arthur said.

"Already? Edward, why don't we say hello to Brandon and the others first? Four of your high school seniors are here," Martell tried to persuade him.

But Edward didn't answer, instead he just walked out from the venue, although Martell was very puzzled, he still accompanied him out.

Seattle is a big city full of cafe, night club and maybe beer. After leaving the venue, Webster parted ways with Edward to enjoy the nightlife activity that the city of Seattle has, Edward had no mood for the night club, beer, and women now.

Although he had star player fame unfortunately his statistics are a bit lower than Webster. But in Seattle, if he wanted, he could sleep with a different 'easy-girl' every night, just like Webster did.

However, this kind of life is not something he can enjoy now.

He didn't have Webster's talent to squander.

He needs to rest, sort things out and plan his future now that he is in 2005.

Because the good news is? He knows the future, either invest money in stock market, for example the famous trillion marketcap company in the future like Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon, or Facebook, and maybe gambling by predicting NBA champion or FIFA world cup...

'hahaha, so thrilling'

James A. Garfield High School is one of the four major private boarding schools in Seattle. As a recipient of a full scholarship for four consecutive years, his dormitory has always been very nice.

And his room is a single room!

Lying on his bed, looking at the incandescent light on the ceiling, he closed his eyes slightly.

"My four-year high school life is about to end..." Edward muttered.

Just when Edward's about to sleep, a strange voice echoed in his head.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for activating the Basketball Superstar Training System!]

He Froze.

"The system is binding…"

Edward's eyes lit up.

"Sure enough, every isekai MC i read in my last life gets a golden finger! I am now confirmed Isekai'd for sure" he grinned.

The next second, a translucent system panel appeared in front of him.
