Whoosh-whoosh…
The wind gently caressed the floor, the curtains swayed under its pressure. A man approached the window, lifted his pale right hand, and shut it.
"Cold," he muttered to himself.
He turned and walked over to an open laptop. On the screen, a window was open: *"Text Document – Chapter ****."
Raising his slender fingers, the man began to type. Eventually, he finished. The final word was:
END.
"Yeah... I've finished my work. How many years has it been? Sigh…" the man exhaled. "Wrote ***** chapters. Might be a lot to some, not much to others. But alas, I have no ideas left to continue this title. Hm, I think the release date for the webtoon adaptation is tomorrow."
Grabbing the mouse with his right hand, he highlighted all the text, copied it, and went to a site called WEBNOVEL.
"Now, where's my title…" he thought. Clicking on "My Titles," he selected the right one and hit "Add Chapter." He pasted the text — a whole 30,000 words — a little for some, a lot for others — and published the chapter for his readers.
"That's it… 'Humanity's World' is officially finished."
You're probably wondering what this title is about. I'll tell you. It's the story of the main character and his heroine. His name is Lin, and he's from China. At the beginning of the story, his parents are killed by monsters — the Faceless and the Skinwalker, creatures born from the void. No one knows where they came from, but they appeared through a rift in the center of Europe — more precisely, in France, the city of love… or in other words, Paris.
The protagonist had come there with his parents as tourists. It was there that the rift opened and took the lives of his mother and father. That's how his thirst for revenge was born. Yeah, pretty cliché, I know.
So what was the ending? The ending… (********* ****************************************************************). That's what it was.
Phew… This title was probably the hardest to write. Understandably so — it was my first work, and it's getting a webtoon adaptation! That's cool, right? Heh… Eh, but how I hate my life… My parents, my brothers, and my sister… They're all gone. Some from cancer, some from that disease called COVID. And now I'm all alone… Living in a one-room apartment. Poor, pathetic, ugly, skinny. I guess that sums up the situation.
"Alright then… All done. Time to rest, I pulled an all-nighter for the last two chapters — I'm exhausted," the man muttered.
He walked over to his bed — though, could it really be called that? It was just a mattress on the floor. He lay down and pulled a blanket over himself.
"Whew, it's cold… Good night, Mom… Dad… Brothers, sister…"
He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Meanwhile, on the laptop screen:ENDENE
(At first, the chapters will be short, but at the end there will be more words.)
