Chapter 1 - 1

My head is pounding like hell, and I feel a bit dizzy, but I know better than anyone that I need to wake up now and look for a new slave contract. Please, don't misunderstand me! I mean a new job!

"Who the hell works more than 10 hours a day anyway?! Only slaves do that!" I shouted, forcing my eyes open. I was sure I had opened and closed them, but everything was still pitch black. No... don't tell me... Am I blind?! For real?!

"Oh! White dots!" I could barely make out three small white dots in the void. Thank god! At least I could say I could see something. But how could I describe this? It's absolute darkness. I can't see anything or recognize my surroundings. Where am I? And how did I get here?

"Oh, I remember now! A giant black hole suddenly appeared in front of me. It swallowed me whole, and ta-da! Here I am. You know what? *Where I am* isn't the important question. The important thing is, *how do I get out of here*?!'"

A voice echoed through the darkness, "Don't worry, you will get out of here. But first, we need to talk about something."

You couldn't tell the gender of the speaker from the voice; it was too smooth, too perfect to be real.

Hmm, it said 'something'? Okay, let's talk to it—him, her, whatever. It's not like I have another choice. I need to figure out where I am and what this strange place is. I'm not easy to play with. I think I should warn it, just in case.

"If you're going to talk about something terrible, I'll make my shoes have a hug with your face," I said, putting on my angriest expression. The longer I stayed here, the more my frustration grew.

"This will be a difficult conversation," the voice replied with what sounded like a sigh.

Are you kidding me?! We haven't even started the conversation yet, and you're already judging it! I thought, but kept it to myself.

"Difficult conversation? What are you talking about? I don't even know if you're human!" I shouted. "Wait a minute! How did you know I wanted to get out of here? Can you read minds?!"

"Any normal person would want that," the voice said, sounding amused.

Well, that was a good point. It made sense.

I had the distinct sense that I was being watched, and I hated it. I felt like an animal in a cage, observed from every angle. It was a disgusting feeling. And to make it worse, I couldn't see my observer—that was just unfair!

"Hey! Don't you think this is weird? People should discuss important things face to face. It makes things easier and builds confidence. What do you think?"

"As you wish, human," the voice said, a clear touch of amusement in its tone.

Human? What are you talking about, you bastard? Did I really get caught by a devil or something? This was freaking me out.

Suddenly, something materialized in the darkness. Is... is that a robot's hand? No, it wasn't just a hand. A large, sleek robot with a fixed, smiling face now stood before me. Damn!
