FLASHBACK
This wasn't the first time she witnessed it, her father beating up her mother. She had seen it several times, she once believed it was okay. But this time, this time he was going to kill her. She could not stand by the side and do nothing, so she attacked him with the little dagger in her hand. It was a gift from her father on her ninth birthday; she used it first on him.
"F*CK!" He screamed as he flung little Reela off him. It was only then he looked to see his daughter all balled up on the floor, wincing in pain. He rushed to her side to raise her up, but she reacted violently trying to stab him again. This time, he dodged. Then he withdrew from her, his own daughter wanted to harm him. He rushed back to Stella's side and kicked her hard on the stomach.
"What did you do to my daughter? Why is she attacking me?" what did you do to her?" his voice was full of so much anger, his eyes ready to kill. Reela jumped on his leg trying to hold him back, but her strength failed her. He flung her little body to the floor again.
"Leave momma alone!" she cried.

PRESENT
Yenka was hoping Gus would take the portion in her hand, but if he did, he would prove to her that he was no different from everyone there. So, while she appreciates his hesitation, she was also hoping he won't waste the opportunity she was giving him to save his life. Then she realised, no matter what choice he makes, she'll be disappointed.
Cain noticed the hesitation, he was beginning to grow impatient, but he so much wanted to please his new Luna, she he tried his best to contain his anger.
Meanwhile, Heca shook her head at the sight of them. She knew Gus might as well lose his life if he does not obey. She made for the dagger in the sorceress' hand and slit her throat with it before anyone could stop her, her blood spilling all over the place. Yenka froze at the spot seeing what Heca has done, she shut her eyes and looked away. "That was not the ending I pictured for you," she muttered. Then she ordered that Heca's body be thrown away since she was a traitor. The men who dragged Heca in, dragged out her lifeless body.
Seeing how things ended, Cain went back to sit on his throne-like seat, overlooking everyone. He beckoned on Yenka to join him. She flashed him a smile, then went right up to seat beside him.
"Behold your Alpha and his Luna," The sorceress announced. Everyone in the hall cheered, everyone, except Gus who was still in a daze.
A party was held right after the whole incident. Cain had invited other Alphas from different packs. They had planned it before now, the party was well organised. The new Luna had gone to change her dress, adorning herself in a bright red decollete dress with a tiny strap around the neck that exposed her entire back, leaving out her ass. Her dress swept the floor as she descend the stairs with a pretty smile on her face.
Cain looked impressed, the fresh scent of her intriguing shiny brown hair greets his nerves as she got closer to him, she smelt like rose. Everyone could tell, Yenka wasn't just beautiful, she was fine, a pretty woman who could make any man fall for her without even getting to snap a finger.
Most of the Alphas were married, so they had their wives and respective Luna with them. It was a good thing some of them were married to their mates, hence didn't feel too attracted to Yenka. But all eyes were on her, she was the star of the party.
Gus took a few step away from Cain while he took Yenka's hand and introduced her to this crowd. He only made her his Luna, they weren't properly married yet. But there was no much difference. They already took the blood oath, Yenka was bound to Cain. Gus shook his head trying to push away the scent hitting hard on his nose, it smelt like honey and lavender. "I want her!" he could hear his Wolf saying, but he tried to suppress it.
"No!" he gritted. But the pressure was becoming too much for him as his Wolf kept pushing him hard, "I want her!" it was bold. He could feel his Wolf trying to come out. Suddenly, the room became too stuffy, more stuffy than it already was for him.
Yenka turned to look at him, a smirk on her face, making him wonder if she knew what was going on with him. Her eyes were daring, perhaps it's the reason she could be so evil despite her fragile look. "I hate you?" he muttered as he forced his way out of the crowd, and ran into the woods. He ran as fast as his legs could carry before his Wolf could come out. If there's anything he did not want to happen, it was for him not to transform in front of anyone, especially now that his Wolf seem to be out of control.
Yenka followed Cain to greet each Alpha and their Luna with a smile on her face. The party was sophisticated, like Yenka's demeanour.
"Meet Alpha Rufus,"
"He is one of the elders, and my oldest friend," Cain said as he introduced Yenka to his friend. Yenka smiled. She greeted Alpha Rufus with a kiss on his cheeks, which he returned. Then she got introduced to his wife as well.
"It's nice meeting you Felicity," Yenka said as she hugged her. "and nice of you to attend the party," she added.
"It's my pleasure," Felicity said as she kissed Yenka's cheek.
"You are such a lucky one," Felicity added. "I was also like you when I was in my prime. Rufus married me after his first wife betrayed him. I was the only one that stood by him and became his only Luna," Felicity said with much excitement. It was as though she could see herself in Yenka, able to replace a Luna while she was still alive.
Yenka flashed her a smile, "You flatter me Felicity!" Yenka said. Then her eyes darted into the crowd and rested on a particular slim figure. Immediately, her eyes went dark as she grits her teeth.
