Chapter 7 - What A Reunion

Felicity was relieved when she saw that it was her husband, Alpha Rufus, who had walked in on her. She flashed him a smile and told him she was just expressing her fondness for Cain's new Luna. "I think she will do a better job than Heca. Besides, she reminds me of my younger self," she said.

Rufus brought her closer to himself, with his hand on her waist. "It's in motion," he said to her, leading her out of the mansion.

"Does that mean our stay here is over?" Felicity asked. Rufus nods his head. She wore a frown as if she did not want to leave, but behind them stood Yenka. She wore a frown on her face.

"What a reunion," she muttered. Then she walked towards Cain's study. Her kind dwelling on how her suspicion was right. It was only a scent linking the spy to Felicity, only for her to find out it was Felicity after blunting accusing her of being the one.

"It is a strange thing how trust can be one sided, I thought such things only happens with love," Yenka said, taking a seat right across from Cain. He looked at her, confusion laced in his face.

"It is either you don't trust me, or they don't trust me," Yenka's words did come as a surprise to Cain because he looked dumbfounded. "what are you talking about?" he asked Yenka.

"Are you going to act like you don't know who sent the spy on me?"

"And what plans are you making with Alpha Rufus that your new Luna cannot be aware of?"

Cain stood up from his seat and rushed to Yenka's side. "I'm sorry, but I do not know what you are talking about," he said, stroking her hair as if to coax her that way. But she sounded more aggravated, pushing him away. "But you knew Alpha Rufus and Felicity sent that assassin, and you're even working secretly with them," she lashed out at him.

Cain was in a daze for a while, but Yenka was not going to give him that space to think. "If you don't want me here, I could just leave the pack and never come back," she said, standing up to leave. But Cain stopped her, "Yenka, I promise you my work with Rufus has nothing to do with you. But I equally had no idea they were unto you," Cain said, his eyes were soft, it was unlike the Cain she used to know. But she made him this way, a smile breezed her lips and disappeared to be replaced by a frown.

"If it has nothing to do with me, what is it about then?" she asked him, her question focusing on what Cain was planning with Rufus.

"We believe a Lycan has resurfaced after a few centuries of being extinct." Yenka's eyes widened.

"You mean a true blooded wolf?" Yenka asked. Cain shook his head.

"A great Wolf of superiority, enough to command Alphas," Cain said, his hands pressed against hers. She frowned, her eyes pushed back a little as if trying to calculate. "Isn't that a good thing?" she asked him.

"It is a good thing if we need one now. But we do not need a Lycan controlling us all, and ruling over us like a king. We all built our packs, and earned our spot," Cain said.

"So you're plotting against whoever this Lycan may be?" Yenka asked?" Cain nods his head in affirmation.

Yenka pulled her hand away from his, "then you'll need my help. But you will have to take down others as well if you must succeed."

"I will help you identify and eliminate the Lycan, but you must eliminate anyone who tries to hurt me," at that instant, Cain knew what Yenka wanted. She wants him to fight against Alpha Rufus.

"Perhaps, it is all from a misunderstanding; Alpha Rufus is my most trusted Ally outside this pack. We've been friends for decades.".... Yenka so badly wanted to say something after that, instead she gave him a disappointed look before leaving his study.

"I don't need you to concede, I will make you do my will," she said, taking heavy steps until she got outside. She walked into the garden, before her stood Vivian.

"It's just two days left, I'll need you to cover for me," Yenka said. Vivian nodded.

"Freya said I have to be there in person,"

"They will cremate her," Vivian equally nods at this information. She did not bother to say anything as it would be needless of her to speak. Her job was to protect Yenka at Freya's command.

"You are no longer asking questions?" Yenka asked, her voice a little lower.

"I will follow your wish!" Vivian replied. Yenka just nods and sat down.

"I don't want to stay in this place for long, not with that old bastard," she said, referring to Cain.

"I need you to keep an eye out for something," Yenka said after a brief moment of silence. "Cain mentioned something about a Lycan. I need you to find out who this person is and report to me," Yenka added. Vivian just nods yet again, acknowledging her assignment.

Yenka wanted to tell her to stop acting like a puppet, but she knew she would not be able to get Vivian to liven up. She was trained to be that way, barely speaking, and only acting on orders.

Meanwhile, Cain had gone to see Alpha Rufus, meeting them at the hotel right before they left. "Why would you want to kill Yenka?" Cain asked, his gaze alone proved how furious he was.

"Kill who?" Alpha Rufus asked. Cain snarled at what he believed was pretence, he dashed at Rufus, letting out his Wolf. Felicity stood by the side, not knowing what to do as fight broke out between both Alphas.

"This is clearly a misunderstanding!" she cried when she realised that the fight was getting more and more brutal. She was about to explain when Gus rushed in to join the fight, attacking Rufus' wolf in his human form.
