Chapter 1 - The Rich Orphan

Rain was pouring against the tall wall of the orphanage, as we could see the leaks from the roof. But inside, a young boy sat calmly, flipping the note book. At just twelve years old, arjun had seen more pain and suffering that most adults would in their life time. Arjuns' parents had died in a car accident when he was just six, leaving him millions in inheritance-fund that could have bought him most extravagant lifestyle one could imagine.

Yet, he was untouched by any kind of material wants. Instead, he wanted his parents who were for gone. His parents will stated that some of their be donated to orphanages, hospitals, and charitable organizations. Even in death, his parents had shown mercy and compassion, and Arjun had vowed to honor their wishes.

He gave sign to the doctor to adjust the oxygen mask around his face. His body was weak; his lungs fragile. Most children his age were running, laughing, and playing, but he had grown used to silence , solitude, and reflection. Yet, there was no anger in his heart. No complaints about the unfairness of life. Instead he felt gratitude for every day he could still experience warmth, kindness and hope for he had seen other struggling.

"Arjun, you need to rest", the nurse said softly

"I will", he whispered. " I just want to finish these calculations for the orphanage donations. We can't let the fund go unorganized"

A faint smile was forming on her face as the nurse said in soft and quite voice, " This child..... even in sickness, even in grief, he thought of others first."

Unknow to all the universe had been watching. Far above the clouds, hidden from all, Lord shiva had been observing this very boy's soul with quiet curiosity.
