Chapter 1 - Dreams of the Past, windows to the Future.

"No! Get away from me!" everyone in the room stared at the woman who frantically screamed while running off the wedding ceremony the groom had prepared.

The man stood in the middle wearing a smug smile. He gazed back at the altar like nothing had happened.

His Mother let out a heavy sigh-Again. This was actually the second time that his son chased away his bride to be.

"Why do you keep doing this?" Mei ling can't help but scoff at Dylan. His son didn't even budge and continued staring in front of him.

She charged to give him a little beating as she did when he was still a kid. But Dylan's brother Sam and his sister in law Margot got a hold of her just in time.

Even the Priest got scared o Mei Ling's feisty-ness - considering the situation.

"She doesn't deserve this family," Dylan uttered.

"That's what you always say," Mei Ling barked at her son. "If you're actually that picky, why not pick yourself a bride and stop wasting our time?"

A strong wind blew towards everyone's faces. Everyone felt a sudden chill run through their veins. Everyone besides Mei Ling.

Dylan's once enchanting features turned ghastly and close to decay. He immediately appeared from the altar to her Mother's face.

Only to be greeted with an ear deafening slap.

Everyone else in the room gasped including Dylan himself.

"Oh, come on!" Dylan protested. Holding the cheek that her Mom had just hit. How come that she could still hurt him after death? "She's just a gold-digger like the first one,"

"And you waited to say that until the wedding?" Mei Ling charged to beat his son again.

"Mom!" Sam and Margot in perfect rhythm holding her back again.

"Come on, Dylan. Stop making Mom mad," Sam was scanning the whole room as if trying to throw words to whoever reaches it. Only the Taoist Priest and Mei Ling who always had her third eye open could see his trickster younger brother.

While Margot, Sam's wife would only silently laugh like she was always watching a comedic unfold every time.

She had known her brother in law since before she was wed to the family. She didn't came from a wealthy family. But she had always been close to the Xu's. And had always loved Sam. But he was not into her at first. If not for her brother in law's help of making Sam jealous. The latter might have not known how he truly felt for her. And they may not end up together in the first place.

Dylan caught a glimpse at her sister in law holding her laugh back.

"I want someone like Margot," Mei Ling stopped at her tracks and followed where his eyes lead her. "If you can find me someone who didn't mind if I was dead. And would love my family like I would. Then I would gladly leave her with everything," His shoulders fell in deep regret. If he hadn't pass too early, he wouldn't have to bother his family to find him a wife. But up until now, he still can't remember why he had to leave that day.

"If you could find the reason why he can't cross-over, his spirit will still be lingering here on earth. Until he can no longer reincarnate."

That's what this Taoist Priest said to his family that day his Mom saw him in the house even after being buried. He thought looking at the monk that One day, the same monk propose that he get married to a living person since he hasn't gotten married before dying. And that's what had lead them to this.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines.

Rain is having dreams of three people sitting on the people acing each other. They wore red Chinese garments. As if they were about to get married. The woman in the middle acing her seemed to be in a very high status. A queen perhaps. And on both side were men that she could not make the faces of. All she knows is that they were no ordinary men as well.

One was probably a high ranking General, while the other seemed like a Scholar or a High ranking Official at the court.

On why she could determine is still a mystery on her part.

The only difference that night is that the woman confronted her in that dream.

"He's waiting for you," said the woman who stood in front of her at the moment. With her veil still drawn to her face.

She had the softest voice. "Who are you?"

The woman just turned her back and started walking away-or more like floating away. Since his shoes never touched the ground.

"Wait! Who's waiting for me?" Rain tried to go after the woman-but instead, woke up upon tripping on her own foot.

At the foot of her bed was a map of the Asian countries she plans to travel to once she has the means. Her eyes suddenly landed on China.

Was this a sign or something?

Days later, with some stroke of luck, she won the jackpot on a lottery scratch card. Enough to fulfill her wish to travel at least one to two country she wishes.

"Yeah, of course, I'll join you," said Megan. She had best-friends in her childhood. But Lily was the only one she could take to accompany her. Since she's just like her. In her thirties, and yet to marry.

Although it was their first time travelling abroad, everything went smoothly, as if the universe conspired for them to safely reach their destination.

On the second day, one of their itinerary was to visit a known temple. Where they had too climb a steep mountain steps in order to reach it.

She enjoyed the scenery, but the trek was very exhausting.

"They say, you could make a wish upon getting there. Or have a monk read your future or your love fortune,"

Both she and her friend exchanged glances before reaching a silent understanding.

At the mountain top. The view was not only spectacular but also breath-takingly stunning. It's true that you will only appreciate the struggle once you reached the destination.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Rain glanced to her side. And saw a very handsome man smiling at her. Her heart almost jumped out of her chest. It was love at first sight.

The man continued to stare at the view while she on the other hand admired his view.

"Rain," Megan's voice took her attention from the man-and for just a moment-he was gone. She tried to look for him while scanning the whole place. But there was no sign of him anywhere.

"Hey, Lady," a man sitting by the entrance of the praying temple called her attention. "Would you mind me reading your fortune for you?"
