In the early morning, the sunlight shone through the window, dispelling all the darkness in the room and adding a layer of gentle light. Even the dust floating in the air seemed to have been swept away.
On the bed, a young man with a full head of white hair slowly woke up. He propped himself up, his drowsy eyes still struggling to open. He turned his head and looked at the ceiling, trying to recall where he was. It seemed he wasn't in his own white room.
The young man looked down and lifted the blanket, only to find that he wasn't dressed. His movements, however, revealed another person lying on the large bed—a girl with gray hair. The five delicate fingers of her right hand were resting just inches from his own. She opened her deep blue eyes and looked at him. Her gaze was as cold as ever, but there was a hint of curiosity in it. The boy, with his white hair and pale skin, looked like a character straight out of a manga. He looked quite cute.
"You're awake... What should I call you from now on?"
The girl yawned and stretched, moving her legs that were still on the boy's lap, settling into a comfortable position. The girl looked to be about sixteen or seventeen years old. But for her to be so at ease with a boy she had just met, was there something wrong with that? Or was it because her boyfriend was such a good-for-nothing that she had no concerns?
The two of them lay in bed again for a while before the silence was broken. This time, it was a groaning sound that seemed to signal a life-and-death struggle. The girl rubbed her sleepy eyes, got out of bed, and walked toward the source of the sound. The young man on the bed was not tied up, but the painful expression on his face made it seem like he was going against his very instincts.
"Get up! Don't play dead!"
The girl kicked the white-haired boy lying on the floor. The bed was so soft, but this fool insisted on sleeping on the floor. She couldn't believe the sight before her. That figure she had looked up to, the one she had yearned for, was actually such a wimp. It turned out he was running from her, and he was so scared that he wouldn't even dare to use his powers.
"Love me!"
"Hey! This guy is your girlfriend's friend? I just followed him here. He insisted on telling me you weren't home. Did you not love me anymore?"
Bronya spoke quickly, not giving him a chance to find an excuse. At this time of day, when the school was empty, she didn't have much time to waste. Finding him had already taken up the entire morning. Today wasn't a complete waste of time, though. Back in the dormitory, the white-haired boy saw his roommate looking at him with a strange expression. His roommate seemed to have something to say, but he held it back. Could it be that she already considered him her boyfriend? But loving him… that was a stretch. And the way she acted so casual about it, as if it was already a done deal. With a little more exaggeration, she could probably convince people that she was telling the truth.
Everyone knew what kind of person he was. Why would they suddenly start saying things like this?
"You guy, you're the one who told her! You better tell me what's going on. I'm really being pursued by her!"
Feeling wronged, the sweet words from earlier turned into a bitter complaint. Seeing the white-haired boy on the verge of tears, Bronya felt a little bad. She couldn't bear to tease him anymore. Besides, from the very beginning, she had just put on an act and said all those things. But if he wasn't interested, none of it would have happened. She felt that this wimp was quite amusing.
