'Are you out of your mind? Dirk questioned Desker as he turned and looked at him in bewilderment. 'Fourth, am all for the much needed credits as the rest, but bringing a rookie who has never been to the nines is a death sentence for anyone, us included.'
'Am I right' he gestured to Rum. Rum just nodded in agreement.
'Brothers, I know what you are worried about?' Desker responded. Wesley kept mum and watched as his future brothers argued.
'Did you hear the siren that rung recently. It was another elemental storm, it swept up everything around the vicinity of the city damaging and injuring most the mutant beasts.'
'So I suggest we attack them before they recuperate. What do you think of this plan?" Desker looked at them with hopeful eyes.
They went quiet for a while as they thought about Desker's idea. ' Hmm, what about other warriors, won't we be fighting them for these beasts? Asked rum.
'That's the beauty of it, the city lord has sent out a man hunt for a missing man called Grog. There is a ten thousand credit bounty on his head through the seeker organization, most of the warriors have decided to look for this man.'
'Come to think of it, I remember this man posted another bounty to search for a young boy through the seeker organization. My instincts tell me there is some connection between the two so I decided not to take on the bounty.'
When Wesley heard what Desker had just said, his entire body went still as if struck by a freezing spell.
He knew that name, Grog the man who had made his life worse than hell. He had gone missing but the question was how he had made the city lord put a bounty on him.
'Was Grog always working for the city lord? 'Wesley pondered about the situation and still he felt that this situation was some how connected to him.
'I have to find out the name of the city lord. May be I will have some thing to work on if I know his name."
As he was pondering over things that he thought would be helpful in his life, Rum asked Desker.'What does this Grog have that the city lord wants, for him to set such a high bounty. Is he a high level warrior?'
"Actually no, he is just a warrior in the blood refining stage.' Desker murmured also in wonderment.
'Huh' Wesley was startled out of his thoughts when he heard that Grog was just blood refining stage warrior. He exclaimed in shock and wonder and Desker turned to look at him.
'Yes Wesley, blood refining stage, that is what is making this whole bounty thing very interesting thus more warriors decided to search for him. Ten thousand credits can buy you a spot in the third ring which has better facilities and is safer.'
'But because of this, I decided to ignore it. It smells off to me' Desker finally explained his reason.
'Yeah, a small blood refining warrior connected to the city lord, that is bad news. Lets go to the mines." Dirk sighed out in finality.
Wesley felt like this was the opportune moment for him to ask them about the city lord.
'ummm, who is the city lord of this city." they all looked at him in puzzlement.
'I had forgotten you did not know much about this city,' Desker blurted out. ' the city lord of this cursed city is called lord Brune. A selfish man who doesn't care about us and the only reason he is a city lord is because he is a seventh level warrior. He can flatten this entire city with a mere wave of his palm.'
Wesley shivered in shock, 'brune… brune…brune…' he muttered the name in his heart. 'This city lord has a similar name to mine, couple on the issue that he is looking for Grog desperately, I am pretty certain he is connected to me or he may be my cheap uncle. '
Desker looked at the shocked face of Wesley and thought that he was thinking about the city lord's cultivation level.
Wesley pulled himself out of his thoughts and continued to ask, ' what about the federation, don't they care about this city?'
The three warriors laughed out sarcastically,' The federation gives autonomy to a city lord so long as they reach the seventh level in their training meaning we are on our own'
Wesley continued to be shocked badly, 'so he is this strong"
'But don't worry Lesly, one day you will reach his level just keep on training.' he told Wesley and threw out a pouch to him. Wesley grabbed it and sent him a questioning look.
'This a storage pouch I got you. It is a bit small but it will work for you. Refine it, there is a also a mortal grade sword for you to use for the mean time. When you get more credits, you will buy a better one'
Wesley thanked him as he dripped a drop of blood to it and tied the pouch to his waist.
'Ok, since that is done, lets move out, we need to enter the mines before the beasts recuperate and other warriors realize that searching for Grog is a dead end.' said Desker as he walked out.
Wesley followed them out, the door to his quarter snapped shut with a shimmer.
