Wesley's heart was beating in a slow rhythm as he sat meditating on the stone bed. He had tried to feel and know what was stirring in his blood but it was elusive and had eluded him. Wesley was now in the late stage of blood refining and could feel that his blood was almost fully infused with spiritual aura.
It was full of energy and could feel it moving in muscles and vessels, and as it passed through out the entire body, his muscles and organs would also be slightly tempered and be strengthened. The only problem he had was that he could not feel any progress with the starry body technique.
It had been a week and he was now just waiting for Desker to spar with so as to see his progress.
He could feel the strength coursing through his body but he did not know how he fared with other cultivators.
Wesley felt comm vibrate in the spacial ring and willed it out. He tapped on it and heard Desker's voice.
'Hey fourth, we are here, open up.'
Wesley got up and opened the door. Desker did not have a mask on but the rest had them on but he could still distinguish them by their height and body size. The two followed Desker in and leaned on one of the walls and crossed their hands.
It looked like they were not happy with Wesley's addition to the group. He nodded to them in greeting and they grunted in reply.
'Did you leave this place for anything or you stayed here the whole time.' Desker asked just to break the tension when he felt it breading in the room.
'I stayed here while training. I wanted to make some progress before you came."
'So which stage are you now?' Desker asked with a soft laugh. He did not think Wesley had made any progress. It would take weeks to almost a month for someone to just start tempering their skin.
'ummm, am almost done with blood tempering.' Wesley spoke in a shy voice. He thought his cultivation was slow.
'What?' the three shouted in surprise.
'you…. you…you' Desker stammered out as he pointed at him in shock and bewilderment.
Wesley cocked his head in surprise, he wondered why they were all shocked. 'Is there a problem?
'no… no… no, am just surprised at how fast you are cultivating. Do you feel any discomfort because if you do not have a solid foundation, you will not be able to control you strength very well.' Desker added on and calmed down. He did not think the boy was lying.
Wesley looked at the Desker's frowning face and his heart felt warm. 'I do not feel any discomfort but I can control my strength very well.' Wesley said with a smile.
Desker started pacing around the room while muttering with a frown on his face. 'I have to change the programme. I thought you were still having the strength you had shown us earlier but it now seems you are a genius'
'I had wanted to just take you to the mines and do a sweep with the low tier beasts or just do a daily sweep in the first ring, but now we need to find out how strong you are currently compared to us. Can't take you to the fighting arenas since they have been shut down.' Desker murmured in confusion. He had to take care of not only Wesley but also his other two companions.
Wesley just looked at him as he paced around the room. He had a pretty easy solution, he could let them into the inheritance space and fight the dummy, but he knew Tresse would not allow it.
'Can I give a suggestion,?' Wesley stopped Desker in his tracks.
Desker gave him a questioning look.' what do you mean?'
'Can t we just start with the beasts in the city. I believe they are of low cultivation levels so we can start with those and then upgrade to the mines later. I believe this will make us learn how to fight together faster, avoid mistakes and unnecessary accidents" Wesley commented slowly with a confident look on his face.
'Hmmm, you actually make sense but the problem with that is second and third have to agree to your plan since the low tier beasts in the city sometimes don't leave any bead when they die. This concerns their livelihoods also since they need credits to survive especially since the situation in the city is becoming worse'
'If we want to make more credits, we need to deal with high level mutant beasts.' Desker explained to Wesley as he pointed at the two warriors who had not said anything since they had entered the room.
Wesley turned to the two and lost hope in his plan. He knew everyone wanted more credits and him too since everything he needed to do needed for him to have credits. Wesley wanted information about the city and his Uncle and he could not ask Desker for it.
He had to go to the seeker organization for that, couple on the information he needed to fill in blanks on the cultivation levels and knowledge about this world.
After a game of staring at each other, Rum grunted in reply. 'three days, we can give you three days for you and us to integrate with the way we fight. We shall not let a rookie cover our backs without knowing your weaknesses and strengths.'
'So First, decide on where to go." Rum added and gestured at Desker.
'Haha, at least we have a new comrade to fight for this city.' Desker chuckled in happiness.
Wesley nodded to the two in thanks. He knew they had initially accepted him into their team.
'So where are we going first, the mines or the first ring?' he softly questioned Desker.
'If you trust me, we can kill two birds with one stone, lets go to the mines.' Desker finally said as Rum and Dirk looked at him in wonder. They did not expect him to take a rookie to the mines. That was a meat grinder even for the seasoned warriors.
