Luna's POV
Luna's silver magic exploded outward like a bomb.
"NO!" she screamed, blasting everyone backward with pure moonlight. The Council members stumbled, Grandma Willow crashed into the crystal wall, and even Sunny was thrown against the far side of the tower.
"I won't choose!" Luna shouted, tears streaming down her face. "I won't pick between horrible things! There has to be another way!"
Before anyone could stop her, Luna wrapped herself in shadow magic and disappeared.
She reappeared outside the crystal tower, her heart pounding like thunder in her chest. Everything felt wrong. Everything felt broken. The grandmother she'd trusted her whole life had been lying to her for three years. The Council wanted to kill millions of people. Her parents were trapped and helpless.
"Luna, wait!" she heard Sunny calling from somewhere behind her.
But Luna couldn't wait. She couldn't think. She couldn't breathe. All she could do was run.
