Chapter 1 - One Last Time.

"I'm so hungry right now I could literally eat a girl!" Zeal complained while looking at an open door at the far end of the cabin.

The place was dark and chilly with no single sound echoing from around. It was as though the world around him was on mute, with only the crimson rays from the bloody moon keeping him company.

Not even the night insects or the loud howls from the werewolves could be heard, the forest was totally silent as if the Grim Reaper was passing through.

Zeal had been locked in here by his witch for three full days and he hasn't been able to walk out, not because the door was locked, but because a magical barrier was cast over this cabin that kept him a prisoner for three good days.

It all started as a joke...

"The barrier can only come down when you learn to summon your aura." She muttered before walking away and raise the barrier.

It has already been three days, no food. No water. Nothing. Just silence and suffering.

He looked weak, his lips were dried up and his stomach was constantly growling furiously of hanger, but it wasn't like there was anything he could do to get out of here, unless he summons his aura which inturn would bring the barrier down.

But of course summoning an aura was ultimately impossible to Zeal. He was spellbound, so how could he possibly summon his aura?

He doesn't know when and how this happened. He doesn't even know anything about his background or who his parents are. All he knows is that he had been living in this academy for as long as he could remember with nobody to take of him.

And just for this, with no one to back him up, Zeal had suffered quite a lot.

He remembered how he had been bullied just because he couldn't cast any spell, he remembered how had been treated as a nobody among the witches, and how even his fellow warlocks viewed him as a nothing.

Let's not even talk even about the vampires and werewolves, the natural enemy to the witches who happened to share this same academy.

Literally, there was no safe place to Zeal in this academy, and it wasn't like he was allowed to walk out of here.

But Zeal endured all of this. He didn't complain, not even when he wanted to as that could only bring him some more serious "problems." The only thing that kept him going for all this long was a thought of turning fifteen and finally being binded to a witch who would practically protect him as her warlock.

That's the right of passage among the witches and warlocks.

Although witches are far stronger than warlocks when it comes to magic, they are still incomplete without a witch-warlock bond.

They won't attain their full magical potential without a warlock, making them incomplete and leading to weakness. But the moment the bond is initiated, they become as powerful as crazy.

The bond isn't just beneficial to the witches, the warlocks as well benefits from this..

Normally, without a witch-warlock bond, all that a warlock can do is to perform some minor spells and summon an aura. But with the bond, the warlock would be able to cast some low level elemental spells relating to the witches elemental attribute.

But they needed to be careful though. They needed to protect each other as if one of them dies, the other party receives a complete backlash that one wish to avoid at any cost.

To warlocks, they would completely lose their elemental attribute. But to witches, the ones that benefits alot from the bond, their lose is way too unimaginable.

But to Zeal, this all was just but a dream. He couldn't perform even a minor spell and summon an aura after the bond, leave alone performing an elemental attribute.

He was spellbound, or that's what he thought, making him unable to utilize magic at all.

It was still confusing to him how and why did this happen. Him being spellbound before his mind could even start processing the information of this ruthless world. And now that he had grown up a bit, sixteen years of age, he had tried to figure what code he broke for him to be spellbound at such a younger age, but no one cares to explain it to him.

A spellbound is one of the strongest spells in the grimoire only used to witches and warlocks who have broken a code. And being spellbound at such a young age, this just didn't seat right to him.

It sounded injust as he doesn't remember doing anything wrong. But with the hunger eating him up, Zeal knew he had to try and again and get himself out of here.

The cabin was completely isolated in the middle of the forest and away from the academy, so even if he tries to scream for help, that would be completely pointless.

Bedsides, it wasn't like his witch was stupid. She had already cast a silent barrier over this and hence fron silent that almost drove Zeal crazy. So yeah. It was him, and only him for himself.

"One last time and I'm done." He weakly muttered while standing in the middle of the cabin, 5"11 in height and his ebony skin painted crimson from the moon's rays, and with his blackish eyes closed, Zeal focused his mind as he tried to summon his aura.

It wasn't like he had forgotten that he was spellbound, he knew it, but still, he just had to try.

He wished for some miracles to take place. He wished for something to just happen but, just like previous attempts, a purple glow of a wireframe suddenly flickered around his body before dimming and completely disappearing.

That was his aura, they would normally vary in color depending on the warlock, and it's purpose was simple, to amplify one's physical attributes; making them stronger, faster and grant them some inhumane durability, and yet, to Zeal, just because of the spellbound, this was all but a dream.

But this time, something was different.

Something felt different, flickering as though shifting, or overriding.

This made Zeal to feel an unbearable amount of headache that sent him crushing on the floor while squeezing his head tight. This was accompanied by a massive pain all-over his body as he felt his bones cracking, breaking down, melting, while at the same time reforming.

It was totally unbearable, the pain was too much to him that blurred his vision, forcing him to slowly loss his consciousness. It made him feel like he was transforming, not just like how the werewolves do transform, this felt different, this felt like there was something more to it that he just couldn't figure out. But before his sight could completely darken–

[Your will power has impressed them!]

[Congratulations! You have been blessed with the curse of the sun and the moon]

[System Sync will officially commence]

A dark black background computerized screen with a crimson writings suddenly materialized in front of his eyes, but overwhelmed by pain and whatever was happening to his body, Zeal suddenly passed out in the middle of the process and, elsewhere, at the same time, a certain girl of the same age as his suddenly shoot to her feet as she felt something breaking, rooting out of her.

"I...I... I think I've just lost my witch-warlock bond." She muttered with panic while squeezing her chest tight.
