Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : You serious?

Imagine waking up one day only to realize that you are reincarnating in a Urban Chinese novel. You know, what is shitty? To reincarnate after getting cut by a fucking chainsaw straight through our head and that too in a swimming pool. Like what shit is this luck of mine for a chainsaw to even be anywhere near the pool and for it to cut open my skull by mistake. This is something straight out of the movie First Departure that happened to me. And you know what is shittier, it is to get reincarnated into some unknown shitty urban novel only to face idiots who use the same phrase a hundred times for every breath they take.

I reincarnated as Xu ZhenCang, a student in an esteemed public school of his district. Born to two loving parents, he was studious person who never stood out much. That was conclusion his memories gave me. But he was a good kid, considering he died saving a kid in an accident. It is almost frightening to think, if he was isekai'ed by truck-kun, then I got killed to be his stand-in, then would something similar would happen for someone to be my stand-in? Well, that I might never know.

So, after discharging from the hospital, I was in bed rest for two months. In this time, I learnt that overall the world followed all the common world building of those third-rate Chinese novels. So, my first course of action is avoid all the possible cliches and all the brainless characters.

"Don't think you are all that just because class monitor Yi Yang is speaking with you". My resolve was proving to be difficult to follow. Currently, there were three idiots surrounding me acting like thugs. I sighed and thought it was too early in the morning to deal with this. We were in our final high school year and these guys were still acting like this. I was already a university student when I had died. They were doing this whole intimidation simply because the girl mentioned, the class monitor, was asked to help me to assimilating back into school and was doing just that. Peering behind them, across the other end of the corridor, I saw Cui Weiying looking here. These guys were that bastard's underlings. It was simple, he was the other class monitor alongside Yi and was jealous of me speaking with her. Talk about insecurity. So, I nodded my head and moved away from there.

Well, those guys were sure persistent, stalking me all around the campus. So, I decided to talk it out. It didn't go well, that is for them at least. But, hey, the problem got solved. The next day, the Cui guy came up to me in class and challenged me for the high score in the exams. I just stared incredulously at him for a while, meanwhile the people around us started murmuring, before I sighed and waved him to leave. Though, he tried to taunt me to accept the challenge, I ignored him. Fast forward to the day of the results, I was on tie with the classmonitor. Not the Cui guy but with Yi. I mean, class monitor post is either meritorious or nepotistic.

Well, that guy was sure fuming, not like he can be nonchalant, when he got humiliated firsthand in front of all his classmates, who were now speaking not so nicely about his actions. Now, I find myself behind the school building surrounded by seven guys, including the one and only Cui guy and three guys from earlier. If earlier I was slightly annoyed because of their idiocy, now I was seriously pissed. I hadn't even spoken much to her after the earlier inconvenient exchanges and this idiot is bringing more people to fight.

After beating them up all, I warned the Cui guy about it and told for the last time that I was not wooing for his already doomed one-side love of his. After that fight, the next few days were surprisingly peaceful, back to normal. During this time, Yi came up to thank me. It seemed that idiot stopped openly fawning over her and making her feel uncomfortable.

So, after some more peaceful days, I find myself taking the brunt of a slap from a young woman in front of a mall crowd, when I am with my family. It was really stinging. She cursed something about me cheating on her friend and that I deserved that slap and started to walk away, as if she were some cool female protagonist of a novel. Before she was about to leave, I composed myself quickly, recovering from the slap, slapped her back. She fell down holding her face. After the detention in the police station for a few hours, I was released and she fervently apologised. It seemed that she had mistaken me for someone else. I was like, is this bitch for real? I wanted to file a case on her for assault but only decided not to on my parent's insistence.

It wasn't even like I was fighting some protagonists or antagonists of a novel. These random people showing up around me were all normal people you could find anywhere, except for their narcissistic behaviors or their stereotypical third-rate villain traits. But one fine rainy day, I found a lady. Not much older than me, probably in college. she was drop-dead gorgeous, I was sure that it was love at first sight. Thus, I resolved myself to fix her, the person who was about kill herself, crying.

This is my story, an ordinary person making the life of the so-called villainess happier.

I saw her standing on the railing of a bridge, attempting suicide. It seemed like a typical ending of a villainess in a romance novel. I stopped her. She started to fire curses at me, while still bawling her eyes out. Some of them were even new to me. She was badmouthed at least, to speak about her personality. After calming her down amidst the pouring rain, I listened to her story, both of us leaning against the bridge barrier. It was the generic love story. Villainess loves Hero. Hero shows affection to Heroine. Heroine gets bullied by Villainess. Hero hates Villainess and goes out with Heroine. Making villainess look bad and kills her socially. At least, that was the gist of it. But, the lady was adamant about not bullying the other woman and she didn't seem to be lying. It seemed the whole situation was going to be messy, not that I cared how messy it was going to be.

I proposed to help her in her revenge, I saw it in her eyes clearly, the wish to exact revenge those who had wronged her.
