Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: reborn

The Divine Genesis

For eternity, there was nothing. Then—an explosion. The Big Bang, but not as scholars believed. It was God's will, shaping the infinite cosmos with celestial force.

Stars ignited, planets formed, and life emerged. The universe was perfect. Then came corruption. Monsters, demons, goblins, dragons—dark creatures born from the abyss. They waged war against humanity, threatening the balance of creation.

God, in his wisdom, sent four divine warriors to restore order:

- Azael, the celestial warrior, unmatched in strength.

- Raven, the shadow-born strategist.

- Rosalie, the guardian of lost souls.

- Asher, the righteous judge.

They bestowed heavenly magic upon mankind, turning mortals into warriors, defenders of their kind. Thus, humanity pushed the monsters into the outer realms, ensuring peace.

But even peace breeds greed and war.

Azael watched mankind descend into selfishness, corruption, and betrayal. He grew furious, declaring humanity unworthy of existence. He sought to erase them all.

The other angels stood against him. Though Azael was the strongest, they sealed him away, erasing his existence from history. Humanity remembered only three Elders—never knowing the truth.

But Azael did not die. He defied fate, seeking rebirth.

God intervened.

If you truly seek humanity's end, live among them. Understand their nature. Only then may you decide their fate.

Azael accepted. For 5000 years, he walked among mortals, watching… waiting.

Time had transformed the world. Magic replaced technology, forging a civilization where spells powered cities, creatures replaced vehicles, and warriors wielded enchanted blades instead of steel.

And at the heart of humanity's defense stood the Holy Knights.

Among them was Leo, an 18-year-old orphan. His father, a knight, had fallen in battle; his mother had died years ago. Alone, yet determined, he sought to join the Holy Knights, to carve his name into history.

The entrance exam awaited.

Leo stepped into the massive courtyard, surrounded by hundreds of candidates. Excitement filled the air—voices chattering, friendships forming. But one figure stood apart.

A boy. Silent, unmoving.

Leo's curiosity piqued. He approached.

Leo: "Hey! I'm Leo. You here for the entrance exam too?"

The boy ignored him, staring into the distance.

Leo frowned but persisted.

Leo: Come on, don't be rude.

Finally, the boy exhaled in irritation.

???: Hmph… Ardy."

Leo: "Thank god! I thought you couldn't talk."

Ardy: Everyone here is for the exam. You're not special."

Leo: "Wow. You sure know how to make a guy feel welcome."

The examiner stepped forward, silencing the crowd. The test was simple:

- Combat Exam: Fight robots in an abandoned city.

- Easy robots = 10 points.

- Medium robots = 20 points.

- Hard-level robot = 50 points. (Only 1 exists—no one needs to defeat it, only survive.)

- Written Exam: A knowledge test on magical theory.

- Mana Rank Test: Reveals magic potential.

The gates opened. The trial began.
