Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Hellish Beginning

The night was deep, silver light spilling across the land. Although it was early summer, a pervasive chill still permeated the air.

A faint mist rose from between the trees, making the originally clear scene appear somewhat hazy.

In the dark recesses of the forest, pairs of eyes of various colors opened, all looking in one direction.

These eyes were filled with fury, the rage born from their territory being invaded.

Mixed with the scent of earth, moss, and decaying wood, the ground was covered in gnarled roots and scattered rocks. A slender figure ran swiftly through the forest, his hurried gasps making one worry he might suddenly lose his breath and simply faint.

As the small figure ran past, he was closely followed by a burly man in camouflage, his body heavily strapped with bullet belts.

The big man held two guns, watching the figure, who was rapidly moving through the forest with his small build. The big man stopped.

He knew his physique was simply not suited for running through the forest; continuing to chase would only lead to losing the target.

"This bastard actually dared to scheme against me."

The man pulled back the bolt, and without the slightest hesitation, pulled the trigger. Bullets immediately poured out, rapidly firing towards the figure running ahead.

The smell of gunpowder began to spread. The creatures that had been hiding in the shadows gradually continued to conceal themselves.

The firepower in the big man's hands was too fierce, something they simply couldn't contend with.

And the running figure ahead heard the terrifying gunshots, along with the tree branches around him occasionally exploding.

A shadow named death quickly enveloped him.

"Cannot stop!"

Only this one thought was in his mind. He knew very well that if he stopped for even a moment, the bullets behind him would turn him into a sieve!

"Click, click..."

The magazine was empty. The big man cursed, but could only remove the empty magazine and reload.

Taking this opportunity, the small figure quickly ran towards a nearby mud pit.

Upon reaching the mud pit, the small figure did not stop. He leaped, directly plunging into the mud, and at the same time, quickly smeared the mud from the pit all over his body.

After doing all this, he reluctantly took a bag from inside his clothes. The bag opened, and a foul stench immediately assailed him.

But the small figure didn't care. Instead, he grabbed the yellowish substance inside, mixing it as much as possible with the mud, and smeared it on his face, hair, and body.

The big man watched the small figure's actions. Although he didn't know what the other party was doing, he understood one thing.

The other party no longer had the strength to run!

"Run! Go on, run again!"

Seeing this scene, the big man sneered, slowly walking towards the small figure with two guns in hand, saying as he walked, "All I asked was for you to attract some Pokémon into a trap, and you act like it's the end of the world. Now you've even stolen one of my Poké Balls. You're looking for death, you know that?!"

The small figure remained silent, merely lying quietly in the mud, even his breathing had ceased, as if he were already dead.

"Not talking?"

The big man walked to the edge of the mud pit and looked at the small figure, who was completely motionless in the mud. The big man spoke with a slight hint of doubt.

But just as he was about to check if this brat was dead, a black shadow swiftly darted across. A pair of huge pincers clamped towards the big man.

"Damn it! A wild Pokémon dares to attack me!"

The sudden attack made it impossible for the big man to pay attention to the small figure in the mud. He fiercely raised both guns and swept fire towards the black shadow.

"Clang, clang, clang..."

The black shadow swiftly lashed out its tail, which gleamed with a metallic sheen. The bullets were all swept away; not a single shot left a mark on that tail!

"Click!"

The magazine was empty once again. This time, there was no time for him to reload. The black shadow directly slammed into the opponent's body, knocking the big man straight to the ground.

"No!!!"

The big man roared in terror, followed immediately by gurgling sounds of choking on water.

Then came the sound of tearing flesh and terrifying chewing.

The small figure lying in the mud heard these sounds, and his body couldn't stop trembling, but he quickly suppressed the fear and panic, and his slightly trembling body gradually settled down.

It wasn't that his mental fortitude was strong, but rather that he clearly understood that if he exposed himself, the big man's fate would be his own future.

The biting and chewing sounds gradually faded. Soon, the small figure could clearly feel a huge body land beside him.

A puff of breath blew onto him. The Pokémon lowered its head and began to sniff him.

A foul stench assailed it, and the other party raised its head, shaking its head uncomfortably from the scent. The other party immediately lost interest in him.

With a spread of its wings, its figure quickly vanished into the night.

Danger averted, the small figure cautiously lifted his head and began to breathe carefully.

But he knew very well that time was running out for him. He had to leave this forest as quickly as possible, or he would surely die here!

Quickly scrambling to his feet, the small figure climbed to the top of the mud pit.

What came into view was a bloody remains, but he couldn't bother with it anymore. He rushed to the opponent's side and quickly fumbled through their pockets.

Soon, he found several items, and a look of joy appeared on his face.

He quickly put the items into his pocket, identified a direction, and with swift steps, rapidly fled from this area.

Not long after the figure disappeared, several Victreebel, accompanied by some Weepinbell and Bellsprout, arrived at the corpse.

The Victreebel waved their slender vines, quickly injecting them into the corpse. Digestive fluids rapidly decomposed the corpse, and soon it became a puddle of soft mud.

The Bellsprout and Weepinbell behind the Victreebel, seeing this, immediately swarmed forward.

After this group of Pokémon dispersed, not a single trace of blood could be found on the ground.

The small figure was also very aware of the situation in this forest, so he dared not linger at all. Thanks to the foul odor on him, no other Pokémon dared to approach him, and he successfully escaped this dangerously abnormal forest area in one breath.

Moonlight poured down, illuminating the earth, and likewise illuminating the small figure.

He was only about 1.4 meters tall, covered in mud, and as thin as a stick, but only the pair of eyes on his face seemed exceptionally bright and piercing.

"I survived..."

He rubbed the mud off his face, revealing a youthful yet pale face. He gave a bitter, rather helpless smile and said, "They all say that if you transmigrate into an anime world, the Pokémon world should be the first choice. You have beauties, cute pets, and you can travel around leisurely. So why, when I actually transmigrated to this world, am I so miserable?!"
