Chapter 1 - The end of an unwanted feast.

It was dark, but he was endlessly hungry...

He had lost track of how long it had been and was filled with overflowing resentment with no outlet besides eating at the roots of the tree that trapped him.

"When will it end? I, who have lived through the end of the world, yet haven't had the chance to see this new world no matter how much I shake the very foundation of the realms".

He said with spite, yet it somehow held hidden sadness that he couldn't admit.

Do to the sudden realization of wanting more than revenge, for the first time in eons, he stopped eating and thought about the endless things he wished to do.

He thought about his kids who were unfortunate enough to be trapped with him and ate at the tree as endlessly as he did yet never complained and stayed by hid side.

He then felt a solemn tear trace his scaled cheek as he wished for so much more for them and regret for not being able to grant their unspoken wishes.

The tear dropped to the wood, but it would be enough to drown a city easily due to his size, but something happened as runes lit the roots as they flashed and revealing the draconic faces of Nidhogg and his children as everything went black again.

""Are you guys okay!?" Nidhogg exclaimed.

He could feel the air get tense as it was unusual for him to show affection as they only heard words of hate and resentment from him as he had a habit of speaking to himself.

It was then that he felt something breeze against his scales, it was wind.

He knew in his very soul that it was his chance and was about to sieze it, but he momentarily stopped in his tracks.

"Follow the sound of my voice and forget about the roots!" He shouted to his kin as he refused to leave without them.

He flew as fast as he could along with his children as he could finally see light, and it was getting ever closer as he went forward until everything was too bright to see.

"Stay with me my children, forget my resentment that I chirped about and follow me to learn about what it is to live!". He then looked back at his children with joy for the first time, but he definitely doesn't intend for it to be the last.

He then looked around and finally realized, "...what realm are we in?"
