"I never imagined that this is how everything would happen"
Hye-won does a bittersweet laugh. "I remember when the apocalypse started"
A deep and wrong rumble from outside. Like something not from this world was dragging itself into it.
"They're here…"
she whispers, paralyzed with fear as she watches in horror. Towering hollows surge onto the shore, their monstrous shapes cutting through the horizon, casting darkness over the city. The distant cries of people running for their lives drift through the air, mixing with the hollow's guttural shrieks.
The train screeches to a halt as if answering her question. The sudden stop jolts everyone forward, and the terrified passengers erupt into chaos. The man beside her rises, revealing the insignia of a military officer on his uniform.
A horrible sound tore through the air, like metal twisting and bones snapping. The train lurched again. Outside, people had begun to run. From what, she couldn't see yet.
Then she did…
It stepped out of the ocean like a god of death. A hollow. Towering, black-fleshed, ribs exposed like jagged teeth across its torso. Its face was a mess of writhing tendrils and a single glowing red eye that scanned the city like a lighthouse of ruin.
"Run!" someone shouts from the back, and all hell breaks loose.
Hye-won snapped out of it "All so long ago" I smiled and turned back.
"Bye Seol"
"good bye"
"bye bye Sonny!"
"See you later Hye-won"
A tear forms in Hye-won's eyes as she turns away, memories of everything they have been through since the beginning flooding back in her memory as she slowly walks away.
