It was frustrating to say the least.
In a manga where the same plotline revolves around and you could predict the ending, it was not (Y/n)'s cup of tea.
Can you really blame him?
And on top of that when the male lead is totally obsessed with the male, petite, soft main character there was not much to say, it was evident after all a bl plotline is either choosing debt or being a stress reliever, or choosing green flag or red flag.
In either case the story wouldn't hesitate to divert into the latter, so now what was there to do, except frustratingly throw the book on the bed.
"If you do that again, I will punch you in the face" Emily's sharp voice yelled out, she picked the book and cradling the book close.
"Wow look at you threaten your own brother for those things huh? I am not giving you any more pocket money to buy such things you know" (Y/n) remarked frustrated.
It was true that both of the siblings were orphan, just four years ago they lost their parents in a car accident when (Y/n) was eighteen.
Their grief wasn't much lived when they came to understand that they didn't have anyone but each other then. So (Y/n) promised to look after him and his sister.
He made sure to provide her all the things she needed and made sure to be there for her despite the three year age difference between them.
Emily insisted on working part time jobs like her brother but he refused. He did three part time jobs but just to support his sister he couldn't attend his dream college.
Don't get them wrong with time you don't eventually move on but as you grow up you eventually have to learn to let go, that is the reality of being an adult. So to say the least neither of them dwell on the past but enjoy their present.
One of Emily's favourite time is reading manga especially bl.
(Y/n) was himself surprised when he found out his little sister would be into such things.
There was one time he 'accidentally' opened a specific page where apparently there were doing the deed.
But when he confronted his sister she shrugged him off, so he eventually gave up and let her do what she wanted after all stopping her would not good thing.
It got all out of hand when she introduced her characters to him explaining the plot, so even if he didn't really read any bl he could totally assume the plot.
It was the same with this new manga 'My Obsession' which she bought, nonetheless the story was the same except for when the character he was silently rooting for died and he was frustrated.
"It was your fault you were overreacting. You didn't even reach the halfway of the story." Emily said though there was a hint of anticipation she held back from saying.
(Y/n) Let out a scoff before explaining "It is predictable, Emily. The main character is now helpless and the male lead helps him and they live happily after in that twisted web of Manipulation, I don't want to hear that shitty story."
Emily gasped slightly, glaring at her brother.
"Fine, you don't have to hear me babbling anymore." She grabbed the book before walking out of the room.
(Y/n) Let out a satisfied sigh before plopping down on the bed. He was exhausted to say the least. After three whole part time jobs it wasn't an easy task to stay up late. So for now he would let himself slip off into a sense of peace and deal with his sister's tantrum later.
