Chapter 3 - CHAPTER TWO

Anna's P.O.V✓

As I stood at the airport, I felt a mix of emotions: excitement, nervousness, and sadness. Grandma Lily, Linda, and her mom had escorted me to the airport, and now it was time to say goodbye.

I looked back at them, and they waved at me. Tears streamed down my face as I waved back. I was going to miss them a lot.

I took a deep breath, turned, and entered the airplane. As I found my seat and settled in, I couldn't help but feel a sense of uncertainty. What lay ahead?

Finally, the plane landed, and I walked down the airport, holding my suitcase. A woman and a man walked towards me.

"Hello, Anna Brooklyn," the woman said with a smile.

"You must be Ms. Helen," I replied.

My mom had told me that her P.A. would pick me up at the airport.

"This way, please," Ms. Helen said, and the man collected my suitcase and led the way.

"Don't mind his act, he's a bodyguard," Ms. Helen whispered.

I mouthed "oh" in surprise. The man was a hard-faced bodyguard.

The man led us to a limousine and opened the door. I and Ms. Helen entered the car, and he closed the door, dropped my suitcase inside the boot, and entered the car.

There was another man inside the car, on the driver's seat.

"Nice to meet you, Lady Anna," the driver said.

"Thanks, nice to meet you too," I replied.

"I am Mac, and this is my twin brother Max," the driver introduced.

So, the hard-faced bodyguard was a twin. They looked alike, but I could tell them apart: hard-faced Max and soft-faced Mac.

"Can you start the car?" Bodyguard Max said to Mac.

"Hey, bro..." Mac said and started the engine.

As we drove, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder. The scenery outside was breathtaking.

Mac drove into Hera Estate and stopped in front of a huge mansion. So, my mom also owned an estate.

We came down from the car, and I looked around. There was a spring in the middle, a porch, and an area where cars were kept.

Max took my suitcase, and we walked to the door. Ms. Helen pressed the doorbell, and the bell chimed.

The door opened, and a woman bowed as we entered. I was mesmerized as I looked around the large sitting room furnished with luxurious couches, sofas with cushions, and a table.

A large television hung on the wall, and a shelf below it. A chandelier hung up in the middle, and an air conditioner hummed softly.

A corner in the sitting room was the dining table and chairs, a refrigerator, washing basin, and a door leading to the kitchen.

My mom walked down the stairs and smiled. "Oh, my dearie Anna," she said and walked towards me.

"Mum," I exclaimed, and Ms. Helen and Max bowed.

I hugged my mom, and she hugged back. "How's the journey?" she asked as we disengaged.

"Great!" I squealed.

"Go freshen up," she said to me. "Helen, show her her room."

Ms. Helen bowed again and said, "This way."

I followed her, and Hardface Max also followed, holding my suitcase.

Ms. Helen opened the door, and I almost gasped in surprise. The huge room was like a princess's chamber, with a princess-size bed, a study, a couch, and a small table.

Two stand lamps, a mirror, and a drawer completed the room.

"Wow, this is amazing," I complimented.

Hardface Max dropped my suitcase on the couch and left.

"Is he always like that?" I asked Ms. Helen.

"Did you mean Max?" she asked.

"Yes," I replied. "He's just hard-faced, unlike his brother."

"He's a nice guy," Ms. Helen told me. "You'll get used to him soon."

"Freshen up quickly, your mom is waiting," she said and left.

I sighed as I looked around, feeling a bit overwhelmed. I walked to a door and opened it.

Goodness! It was a dressing room with various luxurious and designer dresses, bags, and different types of shoes neatly arranged.

I entered the bathroom, and OMG, it was heaven. The large bath tub was filled with water, perfume, a rosy scented cologne, and a towel hung on the hanger.

A mirror and a basin completed the bathroom.

I took a bath and wore a short gown. I dried my hair with a dryer and brushed it.

I went to the sitting room and saw my mom sitting on the couch, pressing her phone.

"Mum," I called, and she looked at me

Anna" she said and I sat beside her.

"How's Grandma Lily" she asked.

"She's fine" I answered.

"Mum you should have waited so that I can celebrate my birthday as a farewell party to my friends" I pouted and she sighed.

"Annie you can't celebrate your sixteenth birthday there" she told me.

"Why......" I asked confusedly.

"I will tell you when you are sixteen" she replied.

"But i'll be sixteen on Wednesday "I told her and she shook her head .

"I will surely tell you the reason on your birthday" she assured me.
