Chapter 6 - CHAPTER FIVE

Anna's P.O.V✓

The next day, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the new world I had discovered.

I took my bath and dressed in a high-necked white blouse, black pants, and a long overshirt made of red fabric covered with sharp designs.

I used everything usable in the gifts I received yesterday.

I looked at the mirror and smiled at the painting before leaving. Now I know who I am.

I am Princess Annabelle, the only daughter of the great Alpha king and Luna, the future heiress and Alpha Queen, and also the adopted daughter of the witch clan Queen.

That's actually the name I gave myself.

I went down for breakfast, and Ms. Evelyn was busy in the kitchen. "Good morning, Ms. Evelyn," I greeted.

"Good morning, my Princess," she replied with a lovely smile.

I sat on the couch in the sitting room and saw my mom coming down the stairs, fully dressed in her suit, ready for work. "Good morning, Mom," I hugged her, and she patted my back.

"Morning, dear," she said as we disengaged. "Are you going already?" I asked.

"Yes, I have an appointment," she said.

"Won't you wait for breakfast?" I persisted.

"I'll have it in the office," she pecked my cheek and smiled. "Bye," she waved and went out.

"Bye," I waved back.

I ate breakfast and chatted with Ms. Evelyn before she went back to work. I sat in the sitting room, staring at my phone, feeling bored. The house is boring. I am going for a stroll.

"I'm going out for a walk," I told Ms. Evelyn.

"You are free to go since Mac and Max will follow you," she said.

"Why must I go with them?" I asked her.

"Your mom ordered that you are not allowed to go out alone, that's why she appointed those two," she said.

"I'm not a kid anymore. Why is she being overprotective?" I shrugged and went out.

I walked to the twin apartment, a duplex across our mansion.

I stood at the door, contemplating what to do.

Should I knock? Wait a minute, how will I be thinking of staying alone with werewolves? Cut off bad thoughts.

I took a deep breath and knocked. 'Everything's alright,' I calmed myself. I knocked again, and there was no response.

I rang the doorbell, still no response. 'Are they not at home?' I pondered as I slowly opened the door and peeped. No one...I entered and shut the door.

I stared at the interior design of the sitting room and the painting of a huge wolf hung on the wall. I walked through the hallway and found the staircase at the end. I stopped in front of a room and entered; it was a library filled with books and powerful relics, similar to the library in our mansion.

I looked around, and my eyes stopped on a wall. It looked ancient. I walked towards it and touched the bricks. 'Is this a kind of hidden passage?' I thought, and my hand hit a brick. The wall made a cracking sound and shifted, revealing a staircase.

'Woah,' I mumbled, 'that scares me.' I walked down the stairs, the wall closing behind me, and candles lit up. I took a deep breath; I don't know whatever is in there, but I'm venturing.

The stairs led to a huge training room with varieties of weapons. Seeing the different weapons, I couldn't help but exclaim, "Holy God!"

"Anna!" A voice startled me, and I turned, seeing Max and Mac.

"Oh, you scared me," I held my chest and gave a sigh of relief.

"How did you get here?" Mac asked, and Max went to drop the dagger he was holding.

"I mistakenly found it when I was looking for you guys, never expecting you'd be here," I said with a smile.

"But no one was here when I came in," I said.

"We were outside training," Mac said, while Max just stood by the wall, staring into space.

"Ehrm... Thanks for the chain, Mac," I told him and turned to Max. "I love the painting," I smiled.

"You are welcome, Princess," Mac grinned.

Max remained silent, his eyes fixed on something in front of him. I felt a bit uncomfortable under his gaze, but I tried to brush it off. After all, he was just being his usual, brooding self.
