Who am I? A traveler in time?
After ten years of living as Uzumaki Naruto, his memories flooded back. It was only now he realized he wasn't really Naruto but a time traveler reborn in the ninja world.
In a modest room of an apartment, a young boy with yellow hair lay on a bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. This was Naruto Uzumaki, Jinchuriki of Konoha Village. Moments earlier, he'd unlocked memories of his past life. Not only was he a reincarnated soul, but he had read the original Naruto story as well. And surprisingly, unlike most, Naruto wasn't fond of the protagonist's spotlight; he preferred a simple, quiet life. Yet, being a Jinchuriki meant he was far from ordinary.
With a frustrated sigh, Naruto's young face took on a thoughtful, almost bitter, expression. His future was bound to be anything but peaceful. Just then, the cheat every time traveler dreams of arrived.

The system seemed slightly taken aback at Naruto's quick acceptance. He chuckled, You'd be surprised at how many fanfictions I've read. This isn't my first simulator.

[Driven by greed, you choose to sell the herbs Kabuto risked his life to gather for you.]
Naruto cringed. This character was truly hopeless, selfish to the core.

[You try working as a samurai but fail once again.]
[You attempt different jobs in Konoha, all resulting in failure.]
[During the Third Ninja War, Konoha Village is attacked. Kabuto risks his life to save you, yet, in your arrogance, you blame him. Heartbroken, Kabuto leaves you.]
Naruto was speechless. Even after all that, the character has the nerve to be ungrateful?
The rebellious personality, greed, and unattractiveness—the character had nothing going for them. Naruto was already considering ending this simulation quickly and moving on to another attempt.
[With Kabuto gone, you lose your last source of aid. In desperation, you decide to profit off the war.]

Naruto thought for a moment, his options weren't great. I could let him scavenge for silver, although his illness will make it difficult. Deciding that wealth would be useful, Naruto opted to have him scavenge.
[You gather a small fortune, but being too stingy to buy medicine, your condition deteriorates.]
[As you near death, the Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, asks you to donate some of your savings to the orphanage. You refuse.]
[You pass away shortly after, leaving behind only the money.]

As he prepared for the next simulation, he couldn't help but chuckle. Perhaps this time, he could craft a character that wasn't doomed from the start.
