Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

Ever got annoyed by every simple thing, like, getting in a queue or when you get mocked by your superior, relax dude, it's natural. It happens to all, they tell you right? yeah? fuck you and fuck this philosophy. Some dude comes along and mogs everything just because of his birth, i can tell you this hurts like hell....

Ugh, i am not speaking sense, am i? whatever, it's time for work, the same monotonous bus, hell even the same faces everyday.

"Son, can i sit here? i have back pain." A kind looking old woman asks our mc, who is busy complaining about his life to window.

Our mc-Alan, disturbed, looks up annoyingly.

How dare this lady call me her son and remind me of my wretched mother, Alan thought while looking at her face with expressionless face.

"Hey man, let her sit" Another bystander started moral policing.

"Yeah man, are u deaf or something, hurry up" Another one chimed in from behind.

The rest of passengers were either listening to songs or similarly day-dreaming, but a few found time to look at Alan with schadenfreude looks.

Of course this old hag chooses my seat, Alan thought while looking around and seeing more judging faces.

"Sorry, I have back pain too." Alan squeezed out a polite smile while spouting pure lie.

No way i am giving up my seat, my stop is still 1 hour away and bus usually stays packed throughout the journey, so giving up this seat now means standing for an hour, Alan thought, if it was a hot lady, then maybe, a big maybe, i would have invited her to sit on my lap, but this, nope.

"Hey, get up now" One of the bystander, who voiced first in support of old lady, placed his palm on Alan"s shoulder and spoke in an aggressive tone.

Another miserable soul trapped in the same work cycle, but how dare he take his frustration out on me, Alan smiled a cold smile and clasped man's wrist and gave an upward thrust on man's elbow with his another hand and then.....

"AHHHHHHHHH" The supposed hero of elderly citizen gave a guttural howl, fell on his butt and clutched his arm tightly while having teary eyes, looking just a shout away from full on sobbing.

"Don't worry" Alan continued, ignoring the shocked looks from others" It's not broken, think twice before touching someone in the future"

The rest of the journey, suffice to stay, went smoothly, with no one bothering Alan.

Cowards all of them, looking at the people avoiding him like plague, Alan thought with amusement, tsk, a good morning got spoiled by these idiots, whose face did i see after waking up?...

The old woman with back pain was huddled near the door with other bystanders while the righteous idiot was sniffing quietly, no one stepped forward to help him.

"Serves him right, don't you think?" Alan asked the co-passenger smugly, who answered by getting up and leaving, Alan made a mock painful expression before his eyes lit up.

"Hey old lady, come, it's empty, you are lucky" Alan patted the seat while waving to the old lady, who ignored him entirely and huddled deeper into the crowd, afraid.

"Well, well. I guess i am the lucky one with two seats today" Alan remarked aloud, completely ignoring the disgust in others gazes.

What now? should i start complaining again, Alan thought while dazedly looking at his reflection, looking back at him was a handsome young man with brown hair and green eyes, sharp and handsome features decorated his face.

"Nothing interesting happens here, so boring" Alan thought while looking at the sky, throwing his bag on the empty seat.

Suddenly everything got red, jolting him awake.

All the passengers got up and looked around, panic coloring their faces, all of a sudden the bus came to a screeching halt, throwing everyone front.

Some unlucky fellows were directly thrown out of the bus and were ran over by vehicles.

Alan barely managed to hold on with a slightly bleeding face he stood up, surrounded by the screams of people made it difficult for him to think properly, but nonetheless he pushed through the chaos to the exit.

First thing that came into his sight was blood and bodies everywhere, making him nauseous.

"Help, someone help, my daughter she is bleeding too much" A father screamed, holding onto Alan's leg.

"Fuck old man, let go, i am bleeding too" Alan kicked the wailing father away, while panting hard and clutching his bleeding head.

"Damn, is this karma? so fast, my team leader leads a jolly life while making my life hell but that bastard is fine, fuck" Alan thought grimly, while pushing through crowd to somewhere quiet. "Fuck, my head, it's like, falling apart"

"Damn, all of you shut the fuck up" Alan screamed while shoving the people out of his way and making his way to shade.

The noise surrounding him slowly zoned out, different colors appeared in his eyes as he heard some faint and indistinguishable whispers.

"Ugh, this headache" Alan screamed while holding his head and screaming, his bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils looked at the tree in his vision, slowly blood came out of his eyes and his expression became rabid.

Just as quick as that headache engulfed him, it went away, leaving him dumbfounded.

"What the...." Alan nearly screamed as he took in the sight ahead of him.

Hundreds if not thousands of people stood still in various poses. Some had their hands clasped towards sky, some bowed towards him , some were prostrating on ground and some looked towards sky with their mouths open wide like zombies.

All of them twitched together in perfect sync as they stared at him in uniform straight position, their faces bloody and eyes cold.

"WHAT ARE YOUUU"

Thousands of them screamed together knocking Alan out cold, the air suddenly condensed and flew with their voices, throwing Alan's body and uprooting some trees.

"This can't be real...." The last thing Alan saw before being knocked out was a red sky and the moon...?, not the usual one though, this one had some splotches of red, which were spreading at the speed visible to the naked eye.

As the blood moon grew darker, it also grew bigger, as if descending on this world, but before it could, it was flung away by a massive tendril or tentacle? Alan couldn't make out, but the next thing made him squint his eyes to the extreme.

The sun as if possessed, suddenly grew big and then bigger until it encompassed the entire sky and the blood moon appeared like a small dot, struggling against the sun for dominance but again a tentacle appeared and the moon grew hazy, as if being banished.

Finally after what seemed like hours but was only a few seconds, the blood moon stopped, thundered and shook wildly but finally it disappeared in the vast expanse of sky.

"I was bored, yes, but i didn't need this kind of cosmic drama to entertain me" Alan thought sardonically.

"So tired, i want to sleep"

With a murmur Alan fell sleep, not caring about the celestial drama unfolding.
