Chapter 10: Alive
---3 Days Later---
Because Jiraiya training would end in three days, they needed to wait for him to finish before proceeding to go to Konoha with him. Fortunately, this also gave them time to plan everything thoroughly and provide a clear briefing about Konoha to the clan members.
Raiken also told them that Konoha most likely will suppressed or forced the Uzumaki Clan, and they cannot resist any demands from the Village.
Hiring a clan member, creating a fuinjutsu or other specialized work that only Uzumaki Clan knows about it. Worst of all if Danzo requested that some Uzumaki babies or children be handed over to join Root, something they needed to prevent at all costs.
Luckily, during a discussion with the Great Toad Sage, Raiken received surprising news, the toad community was willing to let the Uzumaki Clan migrate to Mount Myoboku permanently. This shocked him. Thankfully, no other clan member heard this answer, had they known, they might have insisted on staying in Mount Myoboku rather than dealing with Konoha politics. Because Mount Myoboku is safer, there is no ninja who can enter here unless they have contract scroll and if they could only one ninja per time can enter thisplace.
In just three days living in Uzushiogakure, all his efforts attracted the attention from audience in livestream and earned him 123,010 stars. It was a lot, but the cost to buy attribute points had also increased.
It felt just like a video game. At first, it cost 100 xp per point to increase the level then jumped to 150 xp, and soon it might be 200 xp. Right now the total amount to buy attribute is 150 stars and he believed if he buy this early it might increased to 200 stars.
After applying his attribute points, he noticed the price hike. Curious, he tested the system—adding more points to the cart didn't increase the cost yet, but he knew the moment he made a purchase, it might rise again. So, he decided to keep saving his stars, waiting for the perfect moment to make a bulk purchase.
Still, Raiken couldn't help but wonder—what if others in the clan started noticing his power growth? Would they grow suspicious of how fast he was progressing? Could he still keep the existence of the system a secret? He needed a cover story. Perhaps he could say it was the effect of an ancient Uzumaki meditation technique. Or maybe… something only the last heir could unlock. Sound bullshit, but bullshitting sometimes might work.
Knock Knock
"Enter" said Raiken
"Uzukage-sama, Jiraiya is calling for you," reported Arata.
Jiraiya looked a bit excited as he saw Raiken coming out from the tent. Perhaps he wanted to surprise Tsunade. After all, the Uzumaki Clan had long been a close ally of the Senju, and strengthening that bond might help him get closer to her.
"So, are we moving now?" asked Raiken.
"Yes, Uzukage-sama," replied Jiraiya.
"But first, we won't go to Konoha directly. Kenshiro and I will visit Mito-sama first. Only if she agrees to let our clan move in will we proceed to Konoha," said Raiken.
Jiraiya rubbed his chin thoughtfully before finally nodding in agreement.
"Then, bring this scroll to her and let her know we'll come to Konoha to meet her—if she agrees," ordered Raiken, handing the scroll to Jiraiya.
Jiraiya took the scroll and immediately performed the Reverse Summoning Technique, teleporting himself back to Konoha.
---Konohagakure---
Poof! A white cloud of smoke appeared, and a few seconds later, it revealed Jiraiya.
Some civilians were stunned to see Jiraiya suddenly appear out of nowhere.
He began making his way toward the Senju Residence. Not far from him stood a Root ninja, casually observing the movements within the village.
Suddenly—BAM!—the sound of someone being punched echoed, followed by a loud crash as they slammed into a wall.
That someone was Jiraiya. The root ninja feel it is important to eavesdrop on a disciple of Hokage conversation decided to peek at them.
"I'm sorry, Tsunade… Wait… Wait… Please don't hit me!" begged Jiraiya.
Just moments earlier, Tsunade had stumbled upon him while she was chatting with Orochimaru. In an ill-timed attempt to act brave, Jiraiya had made an inappropriate comment about Tsunade's body. Unexpectedly, he was rewarded with a punch straight to the face.
"You don't want me to hit you? Then do tell me why I shouldn't," said Tsunade, her eyes glowing with red fury—even though she didn't possess the Sharingan.
"Okay… I'll give you something valuable. It's about the Uzumaki Clan—they're still alive," said Jiraiya.
His voice was a little too loud and was overheard by the Root ninja. The Root had already known about the Uzumaki Clan escape. They were present when the barrier was erected and saw the survivors flee using a Toad contract.
Danzo couldn't say anything openly, otherwise, he'd be suspected. That was why he was currently raging in his underground Root office.
The Root ninja froze momentarily before he saw Jiraiya pull out a scroll and whisper something to Tsunade.
Even without direct orders from Danzo, he knew he had to act fast. He needed to subdue Jiraiya and force him to reveal the location of the remaining Uzushiogakure survivors. He signalled the other root to go with him together.
Twenty seconds earlier...
"Do you realize what you just said, Jiraiya?" asked Tsunade seriously.
"I do," he replied, pulling out a scroll and handing it to her. He leaned closer and whispered, "Give this scroll to your grandmother. Her people want to speak with her. They managed to escape to Mount Myoboku, and I was there when it happened."
Tsunade looked down at the scroll, then back up at Jiraiya's face. But before she could respond, a group of masked Root operatives, disguised as Anbu, approached them.
"Hold up. We need to bring him to the Hokage," said one of the Root ninjas.
Tsunade frowned. If looks could kill, the ninja would already be dead. Even Orochimaru raised an eyebrow, stunned by the Root boldness.
Unlike Tsunade, Orochimaru knew a lot about Root. His sensei had once told him to infiltrate Root and monitor Danzo movements from within.
"If you don't want to be beaten, let him go," Tsunade warned, cracking her knuckles threateningly.
"Do you intend to disobey the Hokage?" the Root ninja countered.
"Hokage? We don't care—he's our sensei," Tsunade snapped before driving her fist into the Root ninja. The poor fool was sent flying and instantly knocked unconscious.
Meanwhile, another Root operative had already dashed off to the Root office to inform Danzo that Jiraiya knew the whereabouts of the Uzumaki Clan.
Jiraiya quickly stepped between them and urged Tsunade to stop. "Pass the message and the scroll to Uzumaki Mito. That's all that matters right now."
Tsunade nodded and turned to Orochimaru.
"They're acting strange, Orochimaru. You go with Jiraiya and find out their true motive," said Tsunade.
Orochimaru gave her a slight nod, and Tsunade turned, dashing off toward the Senju Clan compound without wasting another second.
