The end of the world.
No matter how you look at it, that day marked the end of the world. Alongside the creation of a new one.

"I SWEAR TO GOD SAM IF I HEAR THAT ALARM GO OFF ONE MORE TIME!" Screamed a hot headed women in her mid 40's.
"Coming mom!" Sam screamed back.
Up in his room a sleep deprived figure emerged from a bundle of blankets "Ugh of course I can never escape this cycle."
Sam quickly jumped up out of his bed, and put on a white t-shirt, along with a pair of navy blue jeans. Then continued to shut of his alarm before his mom had the chance to complain to him even more. He proceeded to run downstairs where she was eagerly waiting for him at the bottom of the steps.
"I had breakfast ready an hour ago, and now you're going to be late for school!" Scream his mom again.
Having enough of her bullshit today, Sam made his way through the house and screamed "I WISH YOU WOULD JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Slamming the door as he finished his sentence.
Sam's relationship with his mother is, but she was always overbearing and strict towards her family. Although she was just doing her job as a parent, they continued to start fights with each other over the smallest things, which caused their relationship to drift farther apart over the years. No matter the drift in their relationship, they would always make sure to let the other one know that they are loved. Today however, Sam left no room for his mom to reply and continued to run down the street towards his school.
Today marked the halfway point through Sam's final year of high school. School was never Sam's favorite place to be. His grades were always below average, and he only had one friend in the entire school. This along with the pain of never knowing his dad, always left a void in his heart, causing him to drift through his life with no exact purpose.
He life was a meaning less constant cycle of wakening up a complicated one. They were always on thin ice with each other. Her intentions were never bad, go to school, return home, that was it. This pained him, and the only freedom he had from this never ending cycle of a "life" was his friend Michael.
Michael was the one person that actually made him believe that his life was meant for something. They would often find themselves day dreaming about the future of what they would be able to once they were out of this horrendous, life draining cycle.
They planned to leave their current town of a few thousand, to tour the world. Nothing was holding them in this town, besides Sam's bickering mom. This was his only family. The only real thing that was tying down him to his small town in the middle of nowhere.
By the time Sam arrived at school it was already 15 minutes through his first class. This was common for Sam, so the teacher turned a blind eye to it.
The day continued on as normal from this period, until lunch hit.
Lunch began as it usually would. Students were funneling into the lunchroom, chatting and rushing to the spots they usually sat in. Sam spotted Michael who was patiently waiting for him in the back corner of the wide open cafeteria, which had become the usual spot for them to hang out.
Sam and Michael weren't bad looking guys, but due to them joining school later than everyone else, they became outcast. Which they didn't really mind right now. All they wanted to do was escape this shitty town.
"Yo Sam, how was class this morning? I heard the teachers talking about you being late again." asked Michael as Sam sat down.
Sam sighed, rolling his eyes. "Well you know, I slept in again... and you know my mom."
"You give your mom too much hate, she tries to take care of you the best she can. You know its hard especially after your dad just up and ..... disappeared on you two." Michael tried to explain.
Sam's dad had completely left their family in the middle of the night a year ago. Causing Sam's life to slowly stumble downhill. He was forced to leave his big city life, and move to a smaller town where his mom had to work two jobs just to afford to live there. Because of this, whenever his dad was brought up it Sam was instantly pushed into a terrible mood.
Before Michael had a chance to continue the conversation, Sam stood up and slumped himself into the never ending line for the terrible food his school severed.
*CRASH*
An ear shattering noise rang across the sky...
The sound of shattering glass erupted as an eerie silence fell over the world. A fracturing like tear in the middle of the sky began to cascade across the world. As this fissure grew, a giant claw began to emerge, but along with the claw, a voice appeared.
