Chapter 32 - Dark Phoenix: "White Demon, You Are Too Extreme!"

"You—!"

Cyclops stared at Su Mu in sheer, paralyzed horror. He never imagined the White Demon could utter such a profoundly terrifying philosophy with such casual ease!

"You... you truly are a demon!"

Jean Grey and Storm were equally appalled. Looking at the unrestrained, diabolical smile on the boy's face and the bottomless, freezing depths of his azure eyes, a violent shudder rippled down their spines.

At this exact moment, they finally understood the absolute gravity of the Professor's warning. If they left the White Demon unchecked, the consequences would be catastrophic and completely irreversible!

Even Professor X, who had mentally prepared himself for the boy's darkness, felt his very soul tremble upon hearing such unabashed, god-like arrogance.

We cannot let him continue down this path. If we do, in the very near future, he will become a walking apocalypse! Realizing the catastrophic future that was highly likely to unfold, Professor X's expression hardened.

"Su Mu," Charles said, his voice laced with profound sorrow and absolute gravity. "You have strayed down a terrible, twisted path. You cannot be allowed to fall any further into the dark!

"You possess the power to upend the entire world. That power must be used to forge a better future, not to indulge in blind, endless slaughter!

"Massacre solves nothing! It will only breed more hatred, escalate the conflict, and ultimately drag the entire world into an abyss of no return!"

Cyclops, Storm, and Jean nodded emphatically. They deeply revered Professor X's philosophy:

Peace maintained through sheer violence and terror is inherently unstable! Only through compassion, understanding, and peaceful coexistence can a lasting harmony between mutants and humans be achieved!

They had dedicated their entire lives to this ideal, constantly battling the Brotherhood's terrorism and functioning as a superhero team to slowly shift humanity's deep-rooted prejudice against mutants.

And now, redeeming the White Demon from his apocalyptic trajectory had become the absolute most critical mission for the X-Men!

Hearing Professor X's impassioned lecture, Su Mu tilted his head, adopting a look of profound contemplation.

"You know what... you're absolutely right," Su Mu nodded slowly. "A peace maintained through violence is indeed fragile and temporary."

Hearing Su Mu seemingly agree with them, the X-Men collectively let out a sigh of relief. It seemed the White Demon simply lacked proper moral guidance; upon hearing the Professor's wisdom, he was actually willing to listen!

"However..."

Suddenly, the White Demon's expression shifted. That familiar, freezing, diabolical smile crept back onto his face, instantly filling the X-Men with overwhelming dread.

"Have you ever considered an alternative hypothesis?" Su Mu asked softly, his voice echoing with transcendental authority.

"Perhaps the violence you speak of was simply... insufficient. Perhaps it wasn't brutal enough. Perhaps the wielder of that violence was simply too weak!

"If I am strong enough—if my sheer existence alone is enough to crush all dissenting voices—then merely standing here will ensure absolutely no one on Earth dares to utter a single word of defiance against me!

"When that day comes, the violence will finally be sufficient. And that... will be true, absolute peace."

Professor X's face drained of all color.

Cyclops instantly moved his hand to his ruby-quartz visor. Storm's stark white hair began to levitate violently as the clear afternoon sky abruptly blackened, churning with lightning and hurricane-force winds!

But the one Su Mu paid the most attention to was Jean Grey. Deep within her eyes, a flicker of pure, chaotic crimson flashed into existence!

However, since Professor X's psychic barriers still firmly locked away the Dark Phoenix, the current Jean Grey posed absolutely no threat to him.

Sensing the rapidly escalating atmospheric pressure, the ordinary pedestrians on the street screamed in terror and fled in all directions. Within seconds, the broad avenue was completely deserted, leaving only Su Mu facing down the elite X-Men.

Facing two Level 5 mutants (one sealed), one Level 4 mutant, and a Level 3 tag-along, Su Mu simply smiled and took a single, casual step forward!

His crystalline blue eyes flared with ethereal light. A localized wave of absolute, terrifying spatial repulsion erupted from his physical vessel!

The asphalt beneath his feet instantly shattered, the catastrophic kinetic shockwave violently carving up the street for dozens of meters in every direction—except for a tiny, wedge-shaped sliver of ground where the X-Men were standing!

Reacting instantly, Storm summoned a hurricane-force gale, and Jean Grey unleashed a massive telekinetic shield to desperately block the encroaching spatial pressure. But faced with the transcendental repulsion of the White Demon, they were helplessly pushed backward!

Seeing his teammates struggling, Cyclops didn't hesitate. He ripped his specialized visor off entirely!

Two massive, hyper-concentrated beams of pure interdimensional kinetic energy erupted from his eyes, screaming toward the arrogant White Demon!

However, as the blinding optic blasts reached the ten-centimeter boundary of Su Mu's absolute defense, their velocity violently decayed. The beams that could effortlessly slice through solid titanium were reduced to a pathetic crawl, struggling agonizingly to cross the infinite distance of the Limitless!

Su Mu observed the optic blasts with mild curiosity.

Just as I thought. Level 2 Limitless still can't perfectly filter out concentrated, energy-based attacks with zero mass. It was slowing the beam down to a crawl, but the energy was technically still advancing, albeit at a microscopic rate.

Still, once it reaches Level 3 or 4, filtering out lasers, complex toxins, and even conceptual spatial attacks will be entirely automated.

But for now, the optic blast still needed to be dealt with manually.

Under Cyclops' absolute, reality-shattering shock, Su Mu casually raised a single bare hand and placed it directly in the path of the struggling optic blast.

But instead of the highly destructive beam vaporizing the boy's flesh, the brilliant red energy visibly began to dim, rapidly shrinking in intensity as it made contact with his palm!

"What?!" Cyclops gasped, practically doubting his own mutant abilities. "How is he blocking my optic blasts with his bare hands?!"

Professor X, possessing a genius-level intellect, instantly identified the terrifying reality of the situation.

"He isn't blocking it, Scott!" Charles shouted, his voice laced with horror. "He's absorbing it! He's devouring the raw kinetic energy of your blasts!"

"WHAT?!"

Hearing the Professor's explanation, Jean and Storm were even more horrified.

"Professor, wasn't his Energy Absorption documented as extremely weak?! How can he possibly devour Scott's maximum output?!"

Professor X's expression was grim beyond measure. There was only one logical conclusion left.

"His mutant abilities aren't static. They are evolving at a terrifying, compounding rate as time passes. Furthermore, he seems to be continuously awakening entirely new, unrelated abilities!

"And worst of all... his evolution doesn't seem to have a ceiling. He is only accelerating!"

Hearing Professor X's analysis, the X-Men were paralyzed with disbelief. Yet, it was the only theory that perfectly explained the White Demon's impossible feats.

Staring at the smiling white-haired boy, the hardened, veteran X-Men felt a deep, primal terror take root in their hearts. Does a mutant ability this god-like actually exist?! Even a mythic Level 5 mutant shouldn't be capable of this!

At that moment, a unified, absolute resolve solidified within the team: no matter the cost, they had to stop the White Demon.

Because they finally realized that if the White Demon truly lost control, it wouldn't just be a global catastrophe. It would be an extinction-level event!

...

Meanwhile, deep within a burning, crimson mindscape, a terrifying entity with fiery red hair and burning eyes peered out through Jean Grey's vision. She stared blankly at the white-haired demon standing effortlessly against the storm, listening to the Professor's horrifying analysis.

The Dark Phoenix was genuinely stunned.

Under Professor X's constant suppression and lectures about morality, she had occasionally wondered if she was perhaps too dangerous, too radical, or too cruel for this world...

But listening to the White Demon's absolute, dictatorial philosophy of achieving peace through absolute, overwhelming slaughter, she only had one thought.

What the hell am I compared to him?!

THAT guy is the real monster! He's way too extreme!
