Back on the street, Storm's voice trembled as she spoke to Professor X and Cyclops.

"It's truly terrifying. At the rate the White Demon's power is evolving... if he genuinely has no upper limit, doesn't that mean in the very near future, absolutely no one on Earth will be able to stop him?"

Hearing Storm's question, Professor X fell into a long, heavy silence. He didn't know how to answer her. Finally, he spoke slowly, his voice weary.

"Which is exactly why we must bring him back to the right path. It is our absolute responsibility."

Cyclops abruptly interjected. "And how exactly do we plan on doing that, Professor?"

The question hung in the air, unanswered. The X-Men fell into complete, defeated silence...

...

High above the clouds, Su Mu was casually taking a stroll through the sky. Every leisurely step warped space, propelling him hundreds of meters forward.

During his standoff with the X-Men earlier, there were two distinct reasons why he had halted his advance and chosen to leave.

First, Jean Grey possessed the Phoenix Force. The Phoenix Force was one of the most terrifying, awe-inspiring entities in the Marvel Multiverse! It was the absolute cosmic manifestation of all life and emotion!

As one of the most ancient cosmic forces, a complete Phoenix Force could effortlessly decompose, transmute, reconstruct, create, and obliterate all matter. It could casually warp causality and rewrite timelines! It could traverse any dimension, reality, or universe without the slightest restriction!

A fully realized Phoenix was a supreme existence that transcended the omniverse!

Even though the fragment of the Phoenix Force resting inside Jean Grey was minuscule in the grand scheme of things, it was still an apocalyptic power. It was enough to effortlessly elevate her to a Level 5 mutant—and an obscenely powerful one at that!

Su Mu wasn't entirely certain if his Limitless could filter out the Phoenix's conceptual matter decomposition. Nor was he mathematically certain if his Reverse Cursed Technique could regenerate his cells faster than the Phoenix could atomize them. Therefore, he decided not to risk his life on a coin toss.

Second, a violent clash between the X-Men and Colonel Stryker was inevitable.

Previously, Su Mu had asked Tony Stark to track Stryker down. But Stryker, likely anticipating the White Demon's wrath, had gone completely off the grid, burying himself in deep-cover black sites. Even Stark's AI couldn't locate him. Su Mu had subsequently asked SHIELD, with the exact same result.

So, he decided to use the X-Men as bait to draw Stryker out. Stryker, harboring an obsessive, genocidal hatred for mutants, would absolutely strike at the X-Men eventually!

The hook was baited. Now, all Su Mu had to do was patiently wait for the fish to bite!

...

Meanwhile, in a remote diner in a small desert town in Puente Antiguo, New Mexico.

The entire diner had gone quiet, all the patrons staring awkwardly at a specific booth.

Just seconds ago, a massive, muscular blonde man at that table had violently smashed his coffee mug on the floor, yelling, "Another!" Although his companions had immediately apologized to the staff and the room, they still drew everyone's weirded-out stares.

But a moment later, the diner's entrance bell chimed.

A tall, slender figure walked in, instantly shifting the entire room's attention away from the rude, muscular blonde man.

"Whoa, dude! Are you cosplaying the White Demon?!"

A chubby kid sitting near the door spun around in his stool. His eyes went wide as he stared at the handsome young man who had just walked in, sporting stark white hair and round black sunglasses. The kid was incredibly familiar with this look; it was the exact aesthetic of the apocalyptic Level 5 mutant, the White Demon!

Because the White Demon's powers were visually stunning and his global infamy had skyrocketed, countless teenagers across the world had started trying to cosplay him.

This chubby kid was no exception—he even had his hair dyed a patchy white. Unfortunately, his short stature and round physique completely failed to capture even a fraction of the White Demon's terrifying, transcendent aura, forcing him to abandon the look.

But seeing the handsome man who had just walked in, the kid was deeply envious. This guy's height, build, and even his facial structure matched the White Demon perfectly! If the kid didn't know for a fact that the real White Demon was currently terrorizing New York, he would have genuinely thought the walking apocalypse had just strolled into his local diner.

Su Mu paused just inside the door. He noticed the chubby kid with badly bleached hair looking at him with shining, envious eyes, asking if he was a cosplayer and praising his "high-fidelity accuracy."

Su Mu blinked in mild surprise before understanding what the kid meant. A deeply mischievous, highly amused expression crossed his face.

"Thanks, man," Su Mu smiled warmly. "Your hair is pretty cool too."

Receiving validation from a "top-tier cosplayer," the chubby kid's face lit up with pure excitement. He turned to his reflection in the diner's window, striking a pose.

"I knew it! Tom and the guys were totally just jealous of my swagger when they made fun of me!"

Su Mu: "..."

Ignoring the suddenly highly-narcissistic kid, Su Mu casually walked over to the table where the smashed coffee mug lay, and slid into the booth under the bewildered stares of Thor, Jane Foster, Darcy Lewis, and Erik Selvig.

With a little help from SHIELD's satellite intel and his knowledge of the Thor movie plotline, Su Mu had easily located this tiny town. After resting at a local motel for a day, he spotted Thor's group heading into this exact diner, so he decided to come have some fun.

Sitting comfortably, Su Mu met their confused gazes and flashed a brilliant, charming smile.

"Hi everyone. My name is Su Mu. Though, most people prefer to call me the White Demon. Mind if I join you?"

Hearing his introduction, everyone at the table except Thor burst out laughing. Jane Foster, the future astrophysicist and Thor's love interest, chuckled in amusement.

"You're the White Demon? Wow, what a coincidence! We happen to have the Norse God of Thunder right here at our table! Isn't that right, Thor?"

Instead of trying to prove his identity to a table of skeptics, Su Mu immediately put on a mask of absolute, awe-struck shock. He looked directly at the blonde powerhouse.

"Oh my god! You're Thor?! The legendary Son of Odin? The future King of Asgard?!"

Ever since being banished to Midgard and stripped of his powers, Thor had been repeatedly tased, sedated, and treated like an absolute lunatic. No one believed a word he said.

Hearing this stranger validate his entire existence with such reverence, Thor instantly felt a profound sense of kinship with this "puny" human.

"Indeed! I am Thor, Son of Odin!" Thor boomed proudly, a massive grin spreading across his face. "You have an excellent eye, mortal! Once I retrieve Mjolnir and return to Asgard in glory, I shall reward you handsomely for your respect!"

The diabolical smile on Su Mu's face deepened.

"Why, thank you, Your Highness. I look forward to it."

Watching a guy claiming to be the "White Demon" eagerly bond with a guy claiming to be the "God of Thunder," Jane, Darcy, and Erik exchanged exhausted, helpless looks.

Great. One crazy person was hard enough to deal with. Now we've attracted a second one!

Just then, Thor recalled Su Mu's initial introduction and the reactions of the diner patrons. Curious, he asked, "Are you a famous warrior in Midgard? Why was everyone staring at you when you walked in?"

Before Su Mu could answer, Jane interjected. "He's cosplaying a very famous person on the news..."

After Jane spent a minute explaining the modern concept of "cosplaying" to the Asgardian, Thor burst into hearty, booming laughter.

"Ah, I see!" Thor laughed, heavily slapping his massive hand onto Su Mu's shoulder. "But this 'White Demon' you are imitating sounds rather weak! You should cosplay me! The mighty Thor! It is much cooler!"

Being continuously patted on the shoulder by the depowered God of Thunder, Su Mu didn't say a word.

He just sat there, the smile on his face growing deeper, and darker, and infinitely more amused.
