Chapter 39

"Look at this, Lili. It's truly beautiful," Aiden exclaimed, kneeling down beside the flower bed and flashing a wide smile.
"Yes, it is," I agreed, smiling along with him.
‘You're quite beautiful too, you know. As people say, you’re a flower among flowers.’
Aiden gently touched the flower bud with his small hand and responded, "It's a red flower. It's called a begonia."
‘He even knows the exact name,’ I thought, amused.
‘He's like a little kid who can identify the species of a dinosaur when I show them a picture. I bet Aiden is like that in everything. It reminds me of this one time when I was doing volunteer work and got scolded by little kids because I mistook a tyrannosaurus for an Allosaurus. They told me, “How can that be a t-rex? It's an Allosaurus!” I’m exhausted just thinking about it.’
"What about this one?" I pointed to another flower.
"That's a phlox. It's a bit early for them to bloom, but maybe the seeds were sown early."
