"Don't be scared, Lili," Carlisle began to comfort me, possibly perceiving my serious expression as that of fear.
‘I'm not scared, though. And I'm not the one in need of comforting.’
I blinked a few times and mustered a smile in response. Observing my reaction, Carlisle let out a small sigh and continued the conversation, determined to carry it forward.
"When I saw you with magic powers I had never encountered before, you felt like a fairy..."

‘You're making me blush.’
I fluttered my eyelashes a few times without much meaning. It seemed best to let such flattery pass through one ear and out the other.
‘But really, can you believe this kid is already spouting lines like these at the age of ten? He's bound to achieve great things in the future.’
