Chapter 41
***
Whether I had a nightmare or not, I had to maintain a facade of normalcy in my daily life. It was one thing to experience it in a dream, but the secret I carried couldn't be shared with anyone.
Of course, I couldn't completely fool Julianne, who was perceptive, so I made up an excuse about having a dream involving a monster to ease her worries.
It may sound strange to say that I was comforting her, but it was the truth. Julianne was always quick to pick up on even the slightest change in me, which made it even more challenging.
Nevertheless, I managed to conceal the truth from Julianne, and soon, the day of the noble council meeting arrived. I accompanied Julianne once again to the palace.
Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, Aiden didn't join us.
