The Era of the Tower: Year 17 March 30th
The Third World war had gone for double the time of both the first and second World Wars and with the death of more then 100 million people It had been titled as one of the greatest tragedy in recorded human history, that was until the Tower appeared.
Humanity was just starting to recover from third world war, we were not in a good shape compared to the past.
Many were dying of hunger and poor living conditions just because of what we have done to ourselves. Even so, there were still at that time 13.8 billions people on the planet.
What was The Tower well, it was a connection with the rest of the infinite universe and so much more. Not long After the third world war had ended, The Tower appeared ought of nowhere it was a magnificent building with and ancient and dignifying presence untouched by mortals.
The Tower was not an enemy but it wasn't an ally it was a helper meant to prepare us for what was coming. Like a divine decree The tower had transmitted a message to all humans.
The message was simple like all other races, humans were given the same opportunity to open the path to ascension to protect, advance and to connect themselves to the rest of the universe.
But not everything was sunshine and all, as in the vast and infinite universe there were all kinds of races, like there all kinds of different humans, some more peaceful, some more violent and some neutral.
With the descent of the Tower, humanity was informed of what was to come. They have been found and the Tower will offer a 20-cycles of protection but after the protection is gone we will have to fend for ourselves. Before that no race will invade earth, nor gods could do whatever they please.
The reveal of extra-terrestrial species was not the most boggling thing. The most mind boggling thing was the so-called path toward ascension, it was basically levelling like in video games, but to do that you needed to awaken.
After the appearance of the tower some people have started to feel a sudden burst from deeper within them. That was that so-called awakening but you needed to enter the tower to see the talent.
The Awakened are empowered with what you could call magical abilities but they need the help of the tower. By undergoing deadly trials to walk the road of ascension.
And some courageous or dumb however you like to call them, had done so they had gone and entered the Tower and not long after that they had returned and indeed they had magical abilities.
When the world had seen the courageous ones returning with magical abilities, the rest had entered a frenzy with 1.6 billions entering's in a very shored time, but they haven't had the patience to see that to the already small amount of people that had entered even fewer had returned, and that had cost humanity 800 millions people
The most foolish act of humanity and the most tragic one, And who could we blame No one but our very arrogance and the idea that we are the main character and the universe should bend and accommodate to our delusion.
And all that had been 17 years ago and that wasn't the only thing that happened, a couple of years after that Countries had ceased to exist thanks to The Avenger, a brave and tragic man loyal to his country but who had lost four out of his five children in the senseless Third World War.
With the appearance of the Tower The Avenger had taken matters in his own hands, and only three years after the appearance of the tower The Avenger had appeared with great magical powers, and had started the Great Slaughter Of Leaders. He had killed every person who had any leadership position in his country, including their families members.
With most of the people that was keeping the system working being dead the country couldn't go one and it fell.
And with The Avenger as an example, many people who had also gained magical powers and lost their loved ones in the senseless war for the greed of some leaders who have hide in their bunkers and send their families to places untouched by it, had followed suit. The effect had been instant like a domino and had took place all over the word, granted far more bloodier.
And that's how the country system has been brought to an end.
There had been almost 15 years since the time the first country fell and all others follow. Right now people are ruled by those who had awakened, those with the greatest magical abilities that can protect them in the new age to come.

In The Grand Union Domain, a thin young man with pale skin sat in an almost empty room containing nothing but a worn-out mattress and a pillow. This was a single bedroom apartment. It was his living place. You could tell instantly he wasn't from an affluent background but behind all that he definitely was a looker with silvery-white hair and black eyes but he seemed to hide them behind worn-out clothes.
Daemon .
It is not the strongest domain, but it is far better the most when it came to the rights of its citizens. Even someone like me with no one had survived albeit, not the best life, but it could have been worse.
Daemon liked to call himself a survivor because he did he had survived alone most of his life and now he had just awakened. This could be the luckiest thing to ever happen to him or his most unfortunate one.
"I just need to go and enter the tower to know what talent I got, but once entered you need to finish at the very least the first trial or you could never return, I just hope it is at the very least C-rank with a slight hope of a B-rank anything higher is a fool's dream.
"Even if luck where strikes me down it could not be higher than a B-rank, if it were anything higher it wouldn't be considered only me who had been struck by luck but humanity itself."
Humans were revealed by the tower to have 7 grades of talent. The grade of talent was from worst to best: F, E, D, C, B, A and S.
The idea of not going had crossed his mind, but realising as how pointless that was in the end. He had abandoned it as fast as it came. If he didn't go now, he'd likely die later, or worse, be enslaved. In other domains the practice of slavery has been starting to grow rapidly in scale.
The Grand Union Domain didn't have that problem yet, but the increasing status gap between the two distinct groups: those who had awakened and those who hadn't or those who don't wish to take the risk was growing by the year.
Daemon wasn't really a compassionate persona, heck he probably wasn't at all as he found the increase in status normal. If you are better or do things that others aren't willing to risk their life to do, you should be rewarded accordingly by earning greater privileges and status. But even he found the slavery thing a regression in thoughts.
