As the teacher drones on, the class seems to pass slowly and methodically. After what feels like an eternity, Isaac Wright opens his eyes. He wasn't asleep, he was trying to avoid participating in class.
Looking up, Isaac presses a small button on a bracelet on his wrist. This bracelet is called the OP (origin point), which would allow him to view his "traits." The OP was created by a Russian called Vlad Norvitch. He was a man who got brought into the Other worlds and came back and told Earth the truth... That parallel worlds are real and that they all are residing in another place that is accessible to humans every year, after finding out about this new the world went into a panic that was until the OP was first sold, with it you could view your "traits", which was a part of what made you as a being, it would also show your percentage of being brought to the parallel worlds.
As Isaac looked at the newly appeared screen in front of him, he sighed, "Still 22%, I was hoping it would go up after yesterday". Isaac looked around the class, making sure no one looked at the screen.
Name: Isaac Wright
Transport: 22%
Titles: N/A
Traits:
Unoriginal:
You can only learn things that others have before you
Allies:
James York: N/a
Isaac pressed the button again and the screen returned to the bracelet, and his gaze fell upon the desk next to him, It belonged to James, yesterday 51 people were brought to the hero's world, he was one of the unlucky people that was why N/A was were his percentage should have been, but the fact that James's name still showed was proof that James was still alive, albeit struggling since he didn't have a "monument" which act as rifts between many worlds.
The day seemed to pass at a snail's pace, but he was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of the bell ringing. As Isaac stood up, some people came over trying to ask if James was really brought to the hero's world, but Isaac just ignored them. Isaac and James were both unpopular. Isaac would spend most of his time in a club that was formed to help people understand what their "traits" meant, and James was part of a club focused on magic theory.
As Isaac was walking down a corridor to his club room, the room around him twisted and turned as a viscous black mush ran up his body as it dragged him to itself. After a few seconds, pure darkness contorted around him.
And then a polite and firm voice resounded in his ears, "Ahh, finally a break... Oh, it seems like someone was left unaccounted for, let's see, kid, what's your name?" the voice said in an almost joyful tone.
Isaac responded in a practised tone "Isaac Wright, and if you don't mind my question but why was I brought here" Isaac had heard about this place on the news it was the gap between worlds and this voice was a being that brought people to the parallel world for who knows what, what we do know is that you only ever meet him once so to learn anything bigger than your self you must ask now or forever regret it.
In the deep mush, the voice chuckles, "I see that my loose tongue has gotten the better of me, but I will answer your question. First, let's do formalities. I am The Anix, a person stuck in between both worlds, forced to act as a bridge for humans such as you. You will be brought to a place that is deemed suitable by your inner self, so don't go blaming me that you were put into hell. As for why you are here, the population of the other worlds must be within a certain number for travel to be possible. That's why 51 people were brought over 87953 seconds ago.
Anix continued, "Your form will differ from each world, but that is due to one of the many laws that restrict the people in the world, and once you are transported to the other world, you will be able to see what your form provides in that world through your system."
Isaac spoke and cut off Anix, "So wait, you're telling me that life is just a big piece of system slop?"
Anix spoke in response to Isaac's statement, "unlike what you may think, the system is made by you and is custom-made to fit only yourself, and each world's people's system appears in different ways. Some get stat screens, while others are books. The system is a holy law that states that all must know who they are."
Issac thinks for a moment, "I guess that was a bit short sighted of me, I just assumed that when he said system, he was referring to a stat system like in games, but I guess he is right about how systems are a broad area full of different forms."
Issac then spoke, "So, you got any tips for this other world that I should remember, and don't give me any of that stranger danger nonsense, I obviously already know that."
Anix pondered for a second before responding with "Be careful of people who cloud your judgment, and take everything with a grain of salt."
Once Anix stopped talking, everything around Isaac started to become elastic and heavy like he was being smushed, and then a faint glow pierced the ooze that encased him.
And then Anix spoke one last time, "That's our little conversation over for now, make sure to come back sometime, you weren't half bad to talk to."
Once Anix stopped talking, a bright light shone high in the sky as Isaac stood up, now that the intense gravity no longer pushed him down, and he looked around and saw a glade that lay beyond the horizon.
Isaac saw a few types of trees that mainly looked like oak. He walked over to one and sat under it, and was about to start to use his real system for the first time.
