Chapter 1 - Reverend insanity rebirth

Chapter 1: The Witness of the Unfinished Tale

One day in the bustling city of Seoul, a young man, barely twenty-two, stepped out of a massive sixteen-story building. He worked as a waiter in a grand café that occupied fourteen of those floors. Exhausted from the repetitive grind, he descended into the subway, his mind drifting away from the noise of the crowd.

There is a novel in this world, one that many have read with obsession... he thought.

Yet, it remains unfinished.

The novel was "Reverend Insanity," written by the author Gu Zhen Ren. A tale of a ruthless man seeking eternity, halted before its grand conclusion.

"I wish I could have seen the ending of that story..." he muttered under his breath.

Lost in thought, he barely noticed as the subway arrived at his station. He stepped off, moving mechanically like the thousands of souls surrounding him. Within minutes, he reached his apartment—a small, modest space that reeked of solitude. He lived alone, a ghost in a city of millions.

As he collapsed onto his bed, his mind returned to the same old fantasy.

If... if a God truly exists, I want to see the end of Gu Zhen Ren's masterpiece with my own eyes.

He went further.

No, I don't just want to read it. I want to witness it. And if I were to be born into that world... I'd want three extraordinary skills, no matter what they might be.

He reached for his phone, then paused and put it back down with a bitter laugh.

"Haha... dreams never become reality. But still... I really wanted to see that ending."

He always told himself that one day he would achieve his dreams, that everything would get better. But his eyes, though kind, had long lost their spark of vitality. He cared for others, yet harbored a deep-seated disdain for the shallow nature of humanity.

If I die in this foolish world and am reborn in another... I will surely become the sun in the sky, he promised himself.

He picked up his phone, began reading the novel once more, and eventually drifted into a restless sleep.

The next morning, he prepared for work as usual. As he walked past a construction site, a sudden realization struck him like a bolt of lightning.

Damn it. I forgot to lock the door.

As he turned back, a frantic voice screamed from above.

"Hey! Kid! Get out of the way!"

Suddenly, a strange sensation washed over him. Time seemed to slow down.

Why... why do I feel so calm?

His vision began to darken. He didn't feel the impact, but a massive steel rebar had plummeted from the heights, piercing through his neck and chest.

Is this... it? Am I...

Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open.

Above him was a ceiling—ornate, expensive, and clearly from another era. He felt a wave of suspicion. The room was grand, filled with the scent of ancient wood and luxury. But something was wrong. He couldn't move his body the way he wanted to. His limbs felt heavy, small, and uncoordinated.

From outside the room, a deep, authoritative male voice resonated through the walls.

"His name shall be Feng Wei Ran."
