Chapter 1 - Forgotten seconds.

Morning at the Warrior Academy felt cold and full of pressure. Dew still clung to the leaves and grass, while the sound of a whistle split the air. Students ran across the training field, displaying their abilities. Some had swords that shone like sunlight, some had shadows that danced following their movements, and others controlled fire and water with ease.

At the edge of the field, Kael Vireth stood frozen. He wore a worn academy robe, tattered and dirty. His body trembled, not because of the cold, but because every step felt heavy. He tried to imitate his classmates' movements, but every time he kicked or swung the training sword, his steps went off. Dust scattered, and a group of students nearby laughed mockingly.

"Hey, Kael! Failed again?" shouted one of the students, his voice full of ridicule.

Kael let out a breath, lowering his head. "Stop… I'm trying…"

That friend patted his shoulder, laughing loudly. "Try harder, or you don't deserve to be here!"

Kael simply held back his feelings. He knew they would not understand. The world treated him as if he did not exist, and he almost felt the same. But something on his back vibrated lightly. Kael glanced over his shoulder and could hardly believe it: from thin air behind him appeared a giant Chrono Halo clock floating above his back. Its hands and numbers glowed with a soft blue light, turning slowly, without sound.

"What… is this?" Kael whispered, his eyes widening.

At that moment, a falling leaf in front of him seemed to float for a moment before slowing its descent. A bird flying above moved more slowly, as if time around it followed the rhythm of the Chrono Halo.

In the training hall, an old mentor watched from afar. His brows furrowed. "He… is different," he murmured softly. "But different is not necessarily good."

Kael clenched his right hand, trying to understand the new sensation. The clock hands turned backward for a moment, and he felt a second of time move back— not much, only briefly, but enough to shock him.

"Why can I… feel it?" Kael whispered to himself.

Suddenly, one of his classmates, Maren, approached him.

"Kael, are you alright? You look… strange," Maren said, her face worried yet curious.

Kael looked at her, his pale blue eyes holding a secret he himself did not yet understand.

"I… I'm just tired," Kael replied shortly, lowering his head.

Meanwhile, a large screen in the academy hall broadcast an announcement:

"Additional training for all beginner students. Those who cannot adapt will be reassigned."

Kael looked at the screen, feeling a world that ignored him. But the Chrono Halo hands turned slowly, signaling that time—and fate—might still be on his side. In his heart, a small voice emerged:

"One day… they will see me. They will know… and time will be mine."

The training continued that day. Kael tried again, this time more carefully. Every time he stumbled, the clock hands on his back trembled, as if giving encouragement or a warning. His classmates laughed, but some began to look at him with curiosity, for no clear reason.

As evening approached, Kael sat on the academy steps. Dust clung to his robe, his body exhausted, but his eyes remained fixed on the Chrono Halo turning slowly on his back.

"If I can understand you… maybe… I can become someone," Kael murmured, almost smiling.

In the distance, the old mentor watched Kael with a contemplative gaze. "This… is only the beginning," he said. "A forgotten second… could become a moment that determines the world."
