Chapter 1 - ENTRANCE

Chapter 1 — Entrance

The Jujutsu Kaisen world is a modern Japan where negative human emotions—fear, regret, hatred—leak into reality and take shape as Curses, invisible monsters that prey on ordinary people. Most humans never notice them. Only Jujutsu Sorcerers, trained to control cursed energy, can see, fight, and exorcise these beings.

In this world, there are two official schools responsible for training jujutsu sorcerers: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College and Kyoto Jujutsu High.

Today marks the day of admission.

The stone gate of Tokyo Jujutsu High stood quietly beneath the morning sky, old and unwelcoming in the way only places soaked in cursed energy could be.

Three students had already arrived.

One of them leaned against the gate like it personally offended him.

"So this is it?" Satoru Gojo said, tilting his head back to look at the school grounds. "Wow. Kinda depressing. You'd think the strongest jujutsu school in the country would at least try to look cool."

"You're loud for someone standing at the entrance," Suguru Geto replied calmly.

Geto stood upright, hands tucked into his sleeves, eyes scanning the area with quiet familiarity. He already knew what curses felt like. He'd been dealing with them since middle school—and capturing them.

Between them, a girl yawned.

"Can you two argue later?" Shoko Ieiri said lazily. "It's too early for this."

She looked half-asleep, hands in her pockets, eyes sharp despite her disinterest.

Gojo grinned. "Relax, dark circles. First-day vibes. New classmates. Lifelong trauma."

Before either of them could reply, footsteps echoed from behind.

A large figure approached through the gate.

Masamichi Yaga stopped a few meters away, arms crossed as he looked them over.

"So you're the new first-years," he said. "You're early."

"Punctuality is a virtue," Geto replied.

Gojo raised a hand. "I was promised excitement. So far, this place feels like a haunted retirement home."

Yaga ignored him.

"There's one more student," he said. "We'll wait."

Gojo blinked. "Wait? For who?"

Yaga didn't answer.

Instead, from far below the stone steps leading up to the school, another set of footsteps echoed along the stone path.

A boy emerged into view, slightly out of breath but standing straight, adjusting his jacket like nothing was wrong. His black hair was messy, his eyes sharp but quiet—more observant than expressive.

He stopped a few steps away from them.

"…Sorry I'm late," he said evenly. "These campus stairs are going to be a nightmare."

Gojo grinned instantly. "Ohhh? First impression: fragile build, zero intimidation factor. Are you sure you didn't get lost on the way to a library?"

The boy glanced at him, unimpressed.

"First impression back," he replied calmly. "You talk like someone who's never been punched properly."

Gojo stared at him.Then smiled.

"Oh, this one's interesting."

Yaga nodded once. "Good. You made it."

The boy exhaled softly, then walked forward.

"My name is Emiya Hyodo," he said. "Nice to meet you."

Geto studied him carefully.

Shoko glanced once and shrugged. "You don't look like much."

"That's because I'm not," Emiya replied calmly.

Gojo laughed. "I like him already."

Yaga gestured toward the group. "Introduce yourselves."

Gojo stepped forward immediately. "Satoru Gojo. Gojo clan. I was born strong, raised strong, and I'm probably going to be the strongest. My technique is called Limitless—it lets me control space."

"…That's a lot," Emiya said.

Geto followed. "Suguru Geto. My technique is called Curse Spirit Manipulation. It allows me to capture and use curses."

Shoko waved halfheartedly. "Shoko Ieiri. No innate technique—but I'm a master of Reverse Cursed Technique."

Emiya nodded. "That's impressive."

Then all eyes turned back to him.

"And your technique?" Yaga asked.

Emiya was quiet for a moment.

"It's called COC," he said. "I create and deploy structures and units using cursed energy."

Gojo tilted his head. "Units?"

"Yes."

"…Like people?"

"No," Emiya said. "That would be illegal. Probably."

There was a pause. Then Gojo burst out laughing.

"Okay, yeah. Definitely interesting."

"We'll see how it performs," Yaga said. "For now, you're all first-years."

As the gate closed behind them, none of them noticed it yet—but something had shifted.

Four futures had just intersected.

And Emiya Hyodo, quiet and unassuming, stepped forward into a world that would never let him stay ordinary again.
