As the group of 4 set out from the forest Roku turned to Ginger, "Ginger after we buy a good boat i would recommend you go back to Granny Cat"
Pakura's expression lightened at the thought of getting rid of the cat, before turning confused, "Who is that?"
He then explained, "She's the old lady that takes care of most of the weaker Ninja cats"
Then Pakura spoke up, "Weaker Ninja cats?"
He then smiled slightly before explaining, "After my suggestion my mom started a summoning beast program, We would separate the strongest of the new generation of cats and ravens, then we would train and selectively breed them."
He continued, "We would give them special medicine to increase chakra yield and feed them other things to increase strength"
Pakura looked at him in confusion, "They're just scouting beasts? Their main strength is their unremarkable and stealthy nature, wouldn't making them more powerful make them less stealthy?"
Roku shook his head, "Times have changed, The Uchiha originally partnered with cats because they were confident in their own strength and felt combat summon beasts wouldn't be able to keep up. But now we can't have the luxury of inadaptability"
Pakura nodded understandably, "Okay so you separate the cats into 2 groups the weaker stealthier group and the stronger combat group"
He nodded, "Yea kind of, after a while i will separate them into smaller groups like, Ravens that can fly longer distances, ones that are faster in short distance, or separate by chakra natures!"
Then Pakura turned to Ginger with an arrogant expression on her face, "Oh so you're just one of the weaker cats huh?"
Pakura expected to see the cat become angry or embarrassed but it just scoffed. Roku laughed before correcting her, "No Ginger is one of the most talented Ninja cats, she is even more special because she is a master of sealing Jutsu. She just stays with Granny cat to keep her company"
Pakura's expression turned dark before she scoffed, "Yes even if it is talented for a cat doesn't mean its talented compared to humans."
Roku laughed before turning to Pakura, "Why are you so mad at Ginger? Are you really so petty that you would get mad at a cat for not letting you pet her?"
Pakura blushed before going silent, Roku smiled at her childishness before explaining. "While Ginger isn't a genius she is still talented and her peak is around jonin or just barely elite jonin level chakra, plus she has even better sealing talent."
Pakura turned contemplative, while jonin were just weaklings to her they definitely weren't anything to scoff at. A jonin level summon beast would be something that any ninja would pay a good price for. And then take into its account its sealing mastery, it was priceless.
Pakura turned to him and begrudgingly commented, "So that's why she's your personal summon beast, that's kinda impressive"
Roku smiled before shaking his head, "All of them are mine, like I said the summon beast project was my idea and my mom was the sole source of funds. Every single one of the special summon beasts is my personal property."
He then turned to Kaho, "Speaking of the special summon beasts, if you find any mention of Uzumaki summon beast cultivations. Or especially mentions of the "nature barrier", tell me and I will buy it off you."
She looked at him confused and then shook her head frantically, "NO! I could never take money from you, I already own you too much! You can have it for free, I will refuse any payment!"
He sighed before thinking and coming up with a compromise, "I'll donate the payment to the Konoha orphanage."
Kaho hesitated before nodding. She liked the idea of helping others and she knew by his expression that even if she said no he would just do it anyway.
Pakura then spoke up, "What's the Nature Barrier?"
An excited expression crossed Roku's face, "It's one of the great marvels of Uzumaki sealing i have ever heard of! Kushina mentioned it but couldn't teach it since even Mito couldn't learn it."
Pakura's eyes widened, "Even Mito didn't know it?"
Mito Uzumaki's name was known by almost every female ninja in the world, she was easily the strongest woman to ever live. Pakura had heard that she knew every single sealing to ever be made
He nodded before explaining, "It's very rare and obscure, I don't think there has been an Uzumaki to learn it in a couple centuries. The Uzumaki didn't have a use so they never spent time learning."
Kaho then spoke up, "If it's so useless why do you need it?"
He then thought about it before explaining, "The barrier draws in natural energy to allow for one to begin sage training, but a while ago the Uzumaki made a contract with the slug forest. The slug forest has an even higher concentration then even their barriers so it became obsolete"
The two of them understood before Pakura voiced another confusion, "Your friends with Jiraya and Kushina couldn't they just get you to sign on to Mount Myōboku or the Slug Forest?"
Roku smiled, "Because my goal is to make the cat clan the fourth great sage region not join one of the 3"
The 2 of them widened their eyes, Pakura looked at him before laughing. "God your ambitious"
He smiled at the 2 and corrected himself, "No one of the 4 is wrong, I want it to make the other look inferior!"
Pakura laughed even harder, "Never mind your just stupid"
Roku smiled and her and shook his head before turning to Kaho, "When Karin comes of age I'll give her of Ginger's most talented descendants"
Kaho hesitated, "No, it's okay you don't have to. They sound like you have put in a lot of work. It is not right for me to take one for nothing."
He smiled at her and began to think of an excuse, "Okay it will be birthday gift"
She thought about it and wanted to reject it, but Roku wouldn't let her. "Not your decision to reject. I want to help Karin survive in this cruel world and a talented summon beast would be invaluable"
Kaho wilted at the point and nodded, it seemed like phrasing it as a way to increase Karin's safety had swayed her.
