As Kushina began finishing up her letter to Roku, Naruto began to cry. She smiled and tucked the envelope into her pockets. As she walked into Naruto's room and started to change his diaper she thought back on when she first met Roku.
FLASHBACK
Kushina had heard from Minato about the talented boy he had taken on as his guard. Minato had talked about how even though he was only 11 that he had the strength stronger than most Elite Jonin.
He even mentioned how he was the person that convinced the Uchiha to let Kakashi keep his sharingan. She had then decided to meet him and thank him, they had a nice tea and as she bid him goodbye she had a good impression of him.
But then a week later after noticing the absence of her scarf and tearing up her house looking for it she realized she had left it at his home.
She then traveled back to his home and knocked on his door. But as she knocked on his door there was no answer.
She frowned, while she didn't awaken the Kagura's mind eye she was still a good sensor. So with a small flare of her chakra she knew that he was in.
She began to knock on the door harder, and as he opened the door and gave a glare she turned shocked. She had never seen a gaze filled with so much hatred in her life.
He started yelling, "Take a fucking hint bitch, I'm busy"
She gasped in shock, ever since she was a kid and had beaten the bully into submission no one ever dared to talk to her like that. Much less a child!
She wanted to hit him but stopped and glared back, "What's your problem! I just came to say pick something up, why are you such an asshole"
He just glared and continued, "Yeah well i don't want your visit fuck off".
As he tried to slam the door she shoved her hand onto it to stop it, she then glared at him. "I'm here to get my scarf and I won't leave till I get it!"
He glared at her before turning away and letting her in, as she walked in she was furtherly shocked. The room she had seen was very clean and tidy, but this one was destroyed. It was as if it had been ransacked by robbers.
As she thought she realized why he was so rude she began to lecture him, "Just because you got robbed doesn't mean you can be so rude!"
He then turned to glare at her, "I didn't get robbed you dumb bitch!"
She then glared at him in surprise, "Then what's your fucking problem!"
He growled at her and threw the nearest plate at her head, "MY MOM FUCKING DIED YOU BITCH."
As she dodged they plated and suppressed her anger she registered what he said. Her eyes instantly softened, "Oh my god i am sorry"
He glared at her, "Fuck off your apologies aren't worth shit!"
As he turned away and began to walk further into his house she rushed behind him and hugged him.
He began to struggle to get out of her arms, "The hell! Let go of me"
Kushina hugged him tighter before laying her head on his, "its okay let it all out, I'm here"
As he felt her warmth around him his struggles weakened, it reminded him of the hug his mother gave him this morning. The boy then began to sniffle and turned angry, "WHY WHY WHY!!"
She held the boy tighter and began to rub his head, "Don't worry, it's okay"
He then collapsed in her arms and began to cry. "WHY! It's all my fault!"
She kneeled down and hugged him tighter, "It's not your fault. I promise you"
END OF FLASHBACK
While their second meeting started off bad by the end of it Kushina felt very close to the little boy. She even ordered Minato that Roku wasn't going to work for a while.
Everyday after then she would visit Roku and bring him some cooking. While she was their she would just keep him company and comfort him. It was then that she began to understand how much of an monster Roku was.
It was during this time that she learn Roku was teaching himself sealing Jutsu, and she offered to teach him. She was happy to teach since it allowed Roku to take his mind off of his mother's death.
But to her shock Roku absorbed her knowledge like a sponge, his talent in sealing was almost as good as hers.
She was very excited to have such a talented pupil, she even changed from just teaching him the basic sealing Jutsu and began to sprinkle in Uzumaki seals.
While at first she had planed to just temporary teach him before leaving when done. But by the end of the month she had already excepted him as a full student.
As the days passed the month began to end and the sadness in Roku's eyes began to dim. It was as he began to recover that she discovered something shocking.
His talent wasn't just "Almost as good as hers" it was better, the lose of his mother had been waying on his mind causing him to learn at a slower pace. But now that he had began to recover a little his pace had increased.
She looked at him in shock before asking him, "Do you know how amazing you are?"
Roku looked up from his scroll in confusion, "What do you mean?"
Kushina laughed, "I heard from Minato about you, not only are you great at sealing Jutsu. But you are master of Kenjutsu, Fire Style Jutsu and even Medical Jutsu!"
Roku shook his head, "I have very mismatched knowledge of medical. Some things i am good at like healing small injuries and basic diagnostic, but if you had me do a complex surgery or even healing hard injuries i am useless"
Kushina shook her head and as she was about to comment Roku face darkened and he spoke up. "After all if i was a better healer i could have saved my mom"
Kushina sighed in sadness, things like this had been happening alot. Every time something reminded him on his mother he turned silent and angry.
