Chapter 4 – The Truth
Keifer's POV
There were a lot of voices around me.
Slowly, I opened my eyes.
The first thing I saw was Section E standing around my hospital bed.
Wait...
A hospital?
So that explains why I'm lying on a bed.
Great...
I'm the patient. 😒
The last thing I remembered was reaching home and finding out that my monster of a father had kidnapped my brothers.
He had sent me a location.
I immediately called Section E, and we all went there together.
But the moment we entered the warehouse...
Someone hit me on the back of my head.
After that...
Everything went black.
And now...
Here I am, lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by these idiots.
Finally, C-In noticed that I was awake.
"Keifer! You're finally awake!"
I frowned.
"What happened after I blacked out?"
Everyone suddenly looked at each other.
No one answered.
That was enough for me to know something bad had happened.
I looked at C-In and spoke in my cold CEO voice.
"C-In."
"What happened after I blacked out?"
He visibly tensed.
"N-Nothing happened."
I narrowed my eyes.
He was lying.
Just then, the door opened.
Angelo walked inside without noticing that I was awake.
"The doctor has finally allowed visitors to see Jay. If anyone wants to visit her, you can go now. Aries is already with her."
I immediately spoke.
"What do you mean by that, Boss?"
Angelo froze.
His eyes met mine.
For a brief moment, surprise flashed across his face.
"You're awake..."
I nodded.
"What happened?"
He glanced at everyone before saying,
"No one told you?"
I simply shook my head.
"No."
He let out a quiet sigh.
"Everyone..."
"Please leave us alone for a while."
Section E silently walked out of the room.
Once the door closed, Angelo sat down on the sofa.
Then...
He told me everything that had happened after I lost consciousness.
Every single detail.
How Jay had broken the ropes.
How she fought Kaizer's men alone.
How she was stabbed while protecting everyone.
How she still defeated them despite losing so much blood.
By the time he finished...
I couldn't believe what I had just heard.
I was shocked.
Worried.
And strangely...
Proud of her.
I clenched my fists.
"How is she now?"
Angelo sighed.
"She's stable."
"But she's still very weak."
A wave of relief washed over me.
Then I remembered something.
"My brothers..."
"Are they okay?"
Angelo gave me a reassuring smile.
"They're safe."
"They're staying at the Fernandez Mansion."
Only then did I finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Thank God...
They're safe.
