Author's POV
The hospital was peaceful.
Jay slowly opened her eyes and looked out of the window.
She knew she couldn't stay in the hospital forever.
Her people needed her.
A soft knock came from the door.
"Come in," Jay said.
A young man wearing a black hoodie entered the room. He locked the door behind him before taking off his hood.
Jay smiled.
"Aiden."
Aiden smiled back.
"It's good to see you awake, Queen."
Jay rolled her eyes.
"I told you not to call me that here."
Aiden chuckled.
"Sorry... old habit."
He sat on the chair beside her bed.
"The other commanders wanted to come, but I stopped them."
Jay nodded.
"Good."
"If all of you came here together, my identity would be exposed."
Aiden's smile disappeared.
"The organisation is under pressure."
"Keizer has started attacking our businesses again."
Jay's eyes turned cold.
"I expected that."
"He thinks I'm weak because I'm in the hospital."
Aiden leaned forward.
"What are your orders?"
Jay stayed silent for a few seconds.
Then she spoke confidently.
"Tell everyone to stay defensive."
"No unnecessary fights."
"And... no one touches Keizer."
Aiden frowned.
"But Queen—"
"I said no one touches him."
"I'll deal with him myself."
Aiden lowered his head.
"As you command."
Suddenly...
Footsteps echoed outside the room.
Jay's expression changed.
"Someone's coming."
Aiden immediately stood up.
"I'll leave."
Before the door opened, Aiden disappeared through the balcony.
A second later...
Keifer entered the room carrying a bag of fruit.
"I thought I heard someone talking."
Jay smiled naturally.
"You must've imagined it."
Keifer looked around the room.
There was no one.
He placed the fruit on the table.
"The doctor said you'll probably be discharged in two days."
Jay nodded.
"That's good."
Keifer looked at her for a long moment.
"Jay..."
"Hmm?"
"I don't know why..."
"...but I feel like you're hiding something from me."
For a moment...
Jay's heart skipped a beat.
She forced a small smile.
"When the time is right..."
"I'll tell you everything."
Keifer didn't reply.
He simply looked into her eyes...
