after having made their way to the phoenix house, Azura made her way through the doors with Dave in tow
"I am the top scorer of this years tests, Azura Inferno, I am here to recieve the keys to the dorm room that will become mine" she said haughtily "I expect it to meet my standards or my father will be hearing that you do not treat one such as I with the proper respect I deserve" informing the man at the desk of her presence
"yes, I understand ms Inferno" replied the man, panicking as he looked for her room key "this is the best room we have, I hope it is to your liking" he said handing over the ornate key as if it was something precious
"we will see" she said taking the key and heading off towards her room
"um, my name is Dave Spark, I came second and am here for the key to my room" Dave said following Azura's demonstration
looking through the notes he had "ah yes, mr Spark, the person who came in second place, an impressive feat for someone of your status" the man said, hints of being impressed in his voice "here is your key" he said passing the key across to Dave "I don't know whether it is a good or bad thing for you but you are in the room next to ms Azura, I wish you luck"
Dave just gave him a wry smile as he procceeded in the same direction that Azura had left earlier
after walking for a short while he arrived at his room, unlocking it with the key and heading in, the room containing everything he could possibly need, a small kitchenette, a bathroom, a large bed and a desk to study at
"this room is amazing, it's nearly the same size as the whole first floor back home" Dave gasped in wonder
"really, it seems a bit small to me" said a voice from behind him
"Azura!? when did you get there" he gasped
"just after you opened the door" she informed him, already having closed the door so that she didn't have to put on an act
"you could have told me, I nearly was scared out of my skin" Dave replied taking a breath to calm down
"I'm not that scary" complained Azura with mock anger before giggling and flopping onto Dave's bed "I just thought I'd come in and introduce myself to my new neighbour" she joked
"so you knew it was me who was going to be next door"
"of course, these rooms are only for the best of the best and that's you and me" she said proudly "here, I even brought you house warming gifts" she said pushing 2 pills into Dave's hands
"what are these?" he asked
"these are the pills I was talking about earlier, the ones that can boost your magic and stamina, my dad eats them like candy as he believes that even though they only work every 5 years that there might be a chance that they will work again before that time" Azura told Dave before saying with a mischevious smile "I think he just likes the taste"
"I can't take something so precious" Dave refused
"precious" Azura giggled "like I said my dad treats them like candy, I have more than I could ever want and dad makes me eat as many as I can, you having 2 of them makes things easier on me as I don't have to eat as many" she informed him, revealing some of the actual reason for giving him the pills "if you ever want more just ask me for them, in the meantime, now that I've secured my room I should go report to my family, you should do the same" she said getting ready to leave "oh and I don't mind if you don't have a gift for me next time we meet but I will be happy if you do, bye" she said as she left the room
"she just does whatever she wants to doesn't she" Dave sighed to himself, barely having gotten a word in the entire conversation
"but at the very least this will increase my magic reserves and I can keep the other one for dad, and if I find a way to increase the limits of my yellow energy I can always ask for another one in the future" he thought to humself as he popped the pill in his mouth
"hrm, it actually tastes quite good, I can understand why her dad likes them" Dave said to himself, enjoying the taste "I might have to ask for more" he thought as he went to tell his dad the good news.
