arriving back where he was first dropped off Dave saw his dad Richard waiting for him, pacing back and forth to show his worry for his son
"dad!" shouted Dave
"Dave, your back, how did you do, did you pass? why have you been so long? what were the tests" he asked frantically wanting answers
"dad slow down, i'll tell you everything, but we should probably start heading back now, if you're like this imagine what kind of state mom is like" said Dave trying to calm his dad down
"you're right son" said Richard taking a breath "let's get going, you can tell me on the way home, I'm sure your mom is worried about you and is probably making a large meal for you, to celebrate if you passed or to cheer you up if you failed"
"well I have good news dad, I passed" Dave said as they were on the way to the car
"you did, that's fantastic, I knew you could do it" Richard said as he got in the drivers seat and started the engine
"and even better news is that I actually came second out of everyone meaning I get my own room" Dave informed his dad "I also made a friend who gave me one of these to give to you" he said passing his pill to Richard
"is this a body enhancement pill" Richard replied in shock "I can't take this, it's to expensive, you should take it" he said refusing the pill
"I've already had one so there's no point in having another" Dave lied, knowing that it wouldn't have an effect at the moment "and my friend says that she's got loads of them so if I need more I can just ask"
"well... if that's the case, thanks son" he said popping the pill in his mouth "wow these are pretty good, and my body feels incredible" he stated "now, you said she, your new friend is a girl is she" Richard said with a teasing grin "is she cute"
"dad, that's not the point" Dave grumbled "and she was the top scorer for this year and comes from a high class family so there's no way we would be able to interact in that way" he told Richard, remembering that Azura needed to keep up the act of being a high class lady "she gave me the pill so that the gap between first and second place wasn't as big to show off her kindness and to make sure that her neighbour deserved to live next door to her"
"I see, but if she's your friend I'm sure she'll come around, you're a nice kid and I'm sure she'll realise that as well" he said with a smile
the drive continued with Dave explaining the tests he went through and how his element was a rare dual lightning type, eventually reaching home
"Dave honey, is that you" comes a voice from inside as Sapphire comes out "you're back, are you hurt? do you need a rest? are you hungry?"
"mom i'm fine" Dave chuckled, laughing at the way that his mom acted in pretty much the exact same way that his dad did
"he's more than fine, he's one of the best around, he achieved second place in the tests, now come on, we can talk more about it while eating, because I can smell something delicious" Richard said as he sniffed the air
"that's wonderful sweetie, looks like the food I made will be for a celebartion" exclaimed Sapphire "come on, let's eat while it's hot" she said ushering the to guys inside with a smile
telling his mom and dad about the tests and how he did, meeting Azura but leaving out how she really was and about his new room
"that all sounds amazing honey, I'm so proud of you, seems all that exercise you did paid off" Sapphire told Dave with a smile "now I'm sure your tired after such a long day, you should clean up and then get some sleep, tomorrow you'll need to get your things together and decide what you want to take with you to the school when you go there"
"ok, goodnight mom, goodnight dad" Dave said with a smile as he went up to his room
arriving in his room Dave lay down on his bed "moms right, it's been a long day, but before bed I should use up my energy that I have left over, I'm feeling like some donuts and cookies, even if I don't have them now I can always eat them tomorrow" he muttered to himself, opening the system
"what the.... this is" Dave exclaimed, his energies showing a max of 100 for each of them "how is this possible"
"the answers most likely lie in an achievement" answered Gen
maneuvering to the achievements page Dave saw that Gen was right
'breaking the limits' requirements: reach 99 max energy for blue and yellow, rewards: +1 max energy to yellow and blue energies, limit of 99 energy increased to 999
"finally, i can begin to increase my yellow energy again" Dave celebrated, before lamenting at the fact that he hadn't taken the pill but happy that he had given it to his dad "well Azura is going to be happy that I want to help her eat more of those pills" chuckled Dave, generating the cookies and donuts before turning in for the night.
