after walking a short while down the hall in silence Azura turned around and pinned Dave to the wall
"how?" she muttered
"how what?" asked Dave, worried about what she meant
"how did you get so strong" she shouted with an excited voice "your speed was incredible and I could tell that you weren't using any magic, I've never found someone better than me in anything" she exclaimed, bouncing on her heels
"I'm sorry, what?" Dave replied, trying to understand what was going on
"you don't come from any high class family, no training regime, no energy supplements and definately no magic training books to give you enough magic to be able to spare any" she said ignoring his shocked words "it was incredible, even dad would be impressed"
"can you hold on for just one second please" requested Dave, putting his hand up to stop her "can you please tell me what's going on"
"oh, right, sorry, my sudden change probably came as a bit of a shock for you" she grinned sheepishly
"it kind of did, one moment you are acting like some kind of queen, looking down on everyone, the next your acting like a kid our age should act" Dave said
"yeah, that was something I had to do" she sighed "I'm guessing from the way you're acting you've never heard of the Inferno family have you" she asked
"sorry, I come from the countryside and don't really watch much TV" he replied
"well to give you a short explination, the inferno family is a high class wizarding family, we have a unique flame element, specialised training programs and even pills that allow us to increase our physical and magical abilities without needing to train, the magical ones can increase your magic by 20 points with a single pill, if i were to give a number to the stamina ones i'd say it would be around 20 as well" she explained "but since there's no way to actually test a persons stamina acurately there's no way to tell and it's just a feeling and it sounds cooler that way" she grinned
"o-okay" Dave acknowledged
"only problem is that a person can only take one every 5 years meaning I've only had 2 so far as I had my first one at 5 and I just recently had my second one or I'd be even stronger" she sighed, relenting at the fact that she couldn't have more
"and yet with all of those advantages, you still managed to beat me in terms of stamina" she smiled "that means you have potential and that dad would be alright with us being friends"
"wait, all of this, forcing me to join the phoenix house, dragging me away from everyone else and telling me this, it was all to get me to be your friend" Dave asked
"Yep" she smiled back
"why? surely you have loads of friends who your dad would approve of who must have a similar standing to you and a similar level of talent" Dave questioned
"I mean sure there are people who want to be my friend" Azura groaned "but they all just want to be my friend so they can get in good with my family and all of them have there heads rammed so far up their butts they can see out their mouth"
"you on the other hand seem like the kind of guy who doesn't care about my status and the fact that you didn't know who I am or anything about my family name proves it" she explained as a smile returned to her face
"and to be honest I'm kind of sick of all the high class stuff I have to do, Azura you must always show off your superiority, Azura you should be proud of your name and your power, Azura you must only befriend those who are on your level, those weaker than you don't even deserve the honor of being acknowledged, it's all such a pain in the butt" she complained
"it does sound like it" Dave agreed
"heck even the fact that my hair is short like this is because my dad thinks it gives off more of a strong impression, and the fact that everyone in my family is named something blue related is insane, my mothers Sky, my brother is Cobalt, my twin cousins are Lapis and Lazuli and my dad is Aegean, like we get it the family likes the color blue, get over it" she moaned
"i kind of hate to say this but that might actually improve the chances of your dad liking me, my moms name is Sapphire" Dave infomed her
"really, I can't tell if that is a good thing or whether the universe is messing with me" Azura said with a wry smile "oh well, that's something to worry about later, in the mean time, I look forward to going to school with you" she said with an honest smile "even though when in front of others I won't act like I am and will probably have to look down on you before my dad gives his approval" she joked as she held out her hand
"in that case I look forward to our friendship i guess Azura" Dave said taking her hand
"that's the spirit" she exclaimed with glee "but make sure in front of everyone else you call me ms Inferno, if my dad found out I was letting someone of a lower class say my name without his agreement he'd bust a blood vessel" she chuckled "now come on, the dorms are this way and I found out that the top 3 scorers get their own rooms so I want to check out yours before other people turn back up and I have to go acting like a proper noble again" she said with a mischevious grin, grabbing Dave's hand a running towards a red building, happy to have made a true friend for once.
